My cat is due the 6th , 4 days from now. The last few days she has been very restless. Constantly changing positions etc. And the babies seem to be very active. You can see them moving , without having to touch her. She's still eating/drinking , but today she has stopped moving almost completely and has been laying on my desk when I'm sitting there or on my bed , shes not restless today , not like she has been . Is this normal ?

I've owned cats for awhile , but never had a pregnant one. I got her from my gma who used to breed cats , and due to an accident is unable to care for her anymore. She is a 2year old shorthair *BOLD* calico.

Today she's not been her normal self . The last few days she was constantly changing positions etc. Today she has been relatively still and just been doing alot of rolling and stretching.

Bold Calico is not a colour. What breed is she, just out of interest.

Her behaviour sounds very normal for a cat about to give birth, gestation is 63-70 days so due dates are an estimate unless you know how long the breed or those lines tend to go.

I wasnt trying to say that was her color. Didnt know how else to state it. She has very bold colors. My gma calls her a tortie. Last pregnancy she had them 6 days early and thats about all i know. I can see lots of movement like the babies moving and such. Today shes been more loveable then usuall and shes already a very affectionate cat. So shes being suffocatingly affectionate today. Still eating and drinking etc

The babies move a lot before birth, then they stop as they move into position. Is your Grandma not helping you with this? Seeing as it's her cat and she's a breeder surely that would be the best person to turn to  since she knows the cat and it's lines.

Oh that's a shame, is this the only cat or are others being taken care of too? You'll want to get them all spayed and neutered if Grandma can no longer breed.

Sounds like she's getting closer, have you got all the supplies on hand and done any reading on cat births? You need to be there and not leave her alone, making sure all the kittens are born properly, don't get stuck and start breathing, that the cords get done and the placentas come out afterwards, a retained placenta will cause an infection.

There were just two others , her tom and another queen. The tom and the other queen have already been neutered/spayed , this queen is all set to be spayed once her kittens are weaned already have the appointment for a couple months. I've read a few books I got from the library , and some stuff I've read on the net. I have experience with kittens in a sense. I've bottle fed/raised a fair share over the last couple years , and a few months back a new stray that showed up had kittens in our outside dog house. She ran our poor dog off xD We saw the kittens after they were born but never during the birth. Zoey (pregnant queen) This is her second litter , her first litter she did fine , didnt have to help her at all according to what my gma told me before the accident. I've had her since just after she was bred , she's due in 3 days , by the calculation of the typical 60-66days , day 60 is 3 days from now.  She's been acting stranger today , more "In my face and loving" the babies are still moving around quite a bit but not as much as they have been , she's stretching out alot more and rolling. She has two spots , that she "nests" in both have newspaper , and old towels in them , that she has dug up and rearranged multiple times. One spot is on my desk  , behind my monitor under a shelf , and the other one is down in a dresser where a drawer used to be (removed because it broke) She's been staying up on the desk. The last couple hours , she's been pretty much sitting on my keyboard , wherever my hands are.

What breed is she?

Hopefully she goes a few more days, generally 59 and below they're not viable. The clinginess is normal

I've no idea what breed she is, but she's a beautiful tortie & white and is showing how you get both bigger patches of colour, and how the tabby pattern shows in the ginger but not the black.  If you can find the papers I'd love to know what breed she is.

She doesn't really look like any breed to me? Have you got the paperwork, you'll need that to register the litter as well.

She is an American Short Hair , bred to a American Long Hair , black/ginger/white tortie. Based off the papers I found atleast , could be looking at the wrong ones entirely o.o

Who is she registered with? ACFA, TICA and CFA don't have an American Long hair, also ginger isn't a colour used in the fancy - it's red. And genetically it's a black tortie which is how they're usually registered here.

Head and body type is quite different to other ASH's
