Aw, come on! Watching TWC this morning. The latest word is that a nor-easter is supposed to come up through the east coast mid-week next week! People don't have power yet from Sandy and now this? Not fair! I hate winter.....and it's not even winter yet!

I know, right? My yard is just starting to dry out and there are still no generators in the stores.

Winchester, do you have a link of any kind for what they said? I can't find anything on their site or online in general. I do rememebr some talk about it being on the coattails of Sandy from earlier this week. Thanks.

Don't know about the "noreaster" - but there was supposed to be a tropical storm called "Tony" following Sandy. Wasn't supposed to be much of a threat, but maybe the one you heard about is something different.

I agree about hating winter -- that's why we ended up here in Florida. We used to get so depressed once the cold dreary weather started.

Right now it's beautiful here - in the 70's to low 80's.

When are you coming down????

Yeah, without gas, the generators aren't going to help a lot. And it's going to be in the 20s at night. We're going to have to drain the water lines at night and hook them up again in the morning. Without power, the heat tape will not prevent freezing...

Here's where we heard it....it's one of our local newstations. http://wnep.com/weather/  It's the station we watch most of the time for our local news and such.

I see where now it's been changed to flurries on Wed night, followed by showers of snow and freezing rain on Thursday morning. Yesterday, they were all giddy with the threat of a noreaster (you know how weatherweenies are when it comes to bad weather; I swear they thrive on the stuff). But they were saying yesterday that it was to start on Wednesday and go clear through til Thursday night. We were not amused.

Oh, goodness.  I feel so terrible for everyone who was in this storm's path.  Here's hoping for nothing more:

I live in Texas and one of our local weather guys mentioned the nor-easter for late next week on his FB page yesterday.  It's just one thing after another.  My prayers go out to ya'll up there.

I put the flannel sheets on the bed about a month ago. And about two weeks or so ago, I put the electric blanket on the bed! It's been getting chilly at night around here.

Ugh. They are saying 1-3 inches of rain and coastal flooding for us. :(

You all have more than enough to deal with already and another storm is the very last thing you need.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Being in the hills into the Delaware Water Gap, they're predicting rain/sleet and rain/snow for us in this storm. The temperature predictions at night now range all over the place depending on which service we check - and thank goodness, because a couple of days ago they all agreed it was going to be low-20s. And our heater went today. We have an electric heater we can use when we run the generator, and we have a portable propane heater, which is what we'll use at night because we won't run the generator at night when it's too cold or during a storm, because some of the ferals take refuge under the RV.

:sigh:

On a sad note, an elderly couple in the RV park had their motorhome completely crushed. A tree fell two days AFTER the storm. They weren't in it at the time, thank goodness. But they live in their RV full time - they're usually in Florida by now, but Jack has some medical issues that needed attending to before they leave for the season. :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :heart2:

That poor couple, Laurie! I'm so glad they were not in their RV at the time. Good luck with your heaters; I hope the temps won't get down so far.

This morning, our local weatherweenie said that the storm will be veering east enough that central PA may not get much of anything at all.

Was 80 today--- Personally, I would love snow and ice--- I get tired of the Texas winter or lack thereof :(

Extremes in weather can make one lose perspective I think..

What is a nor-easter?

OMG that is so devastating for those elderly folks. Thankful they were not home at the time. OH LAURIE...... my thoughts are with you during this difficult and trying time with no power, the heater going out and the possibility of another east coast storm. :sigh: You both are very close in thought and heart today and everyday. I hope and pray your power is resumed very, very, very soon. What about the raw cat food/meats in the freezer outside? I guess with temps being in the twenties at night helps keep things frozen. :cross: :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for those canisters/tanks to bring you enough heat. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :grphug:

How awful for the elderly couple. :(

I swear, the winds and rain from the nor'easter have been much worse than they were for Sandy. It's been going on now for 24 hours and while the rain has let up a bit, the wind is still going strong.
