I've been out with even more lost family members (besides my Uncle Jack) in my family, so hopefully this will stay open awhile longer so I can submit a couple. Hopefully tomorrow or the next day, as I'd love to contribute.

Thank you for letting us know. I'll definitely keep this open a few more days, to allow you to participate.

By the way, and totally OT, my vet told me they no longer eartip feral cats brought in for a spay/neuter because it's now illegal to dock ears and tails in Israel. They realize it's not the same thing, but they checked and apparently the law just doesn't take ear tipping into account and is very clear that you shouldn't cut ears or any part of them, cats or dogs.

So how do they know it is a spayed female /neutered male vs female? I swear Bugsy is so furry I just know he is a male because it says in the paperwork (sorry Bugsy)

I know, it sucks, but I can't blame them for wanting to avoid legal issues. I think the main problem is going to be with females, where you absolutely have no way of telling if they're spayed or not? My two neutered males have very little hanging down there, but I'm pretty sure a vet can see the penis if the cat is sedated for surgery, and won't try to spay again. Obviously not at all an optimal solution - why re-trap and put on the table in the first place?

:yeah: Females would need at least an ultrasound I guess :dk:..... Boy...... What about tattoos? Can they at least do that?

You know, I'll have to ask them real soon. I'm about to get back my trap next week and try to trap a local feral female, and I'll try and see if they'll make an exception for me with eartipping. I don't think they tattoo over here, but I'll ask.

So are you still photoshopping? :lol3:

Oh Anne - I think it 's a great law, but there really ought to be some kind of identifying marker for spayed females! Wow that would complicate things!
