Hi guys,

We have had our two puds for 5 years we have had them since they were 8 weeks old (they are brothers).

When we first got them we noticed Milli (we thought he was girl) was not very well, he was quite unsociable and didn't seem to be eating. After a trip to the vets it was confirmed he had cat flu.

They gave us some powerder to put in his food and after that he was a changed cat and has grown into a very playful sociable little guy.

The one thing that worries us though is when the weather starts getting colder he will sometimes get a blocked nose, this can happen litrally over night. This means he wont eat (as he cant smell) and has to breath through his mouth. It normally clears up within 24hrs but I was wondering if there is anything we can do to make him more confortable.

His brother Milo has never got this and has always been a healthy cat.

Oh they are both house cats incase that makes a difference.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the site.  I am having the same thing in my new kitties and I started a thread about clearing nasal passages.  There are great suggestions on everything from increasing the humidity level, getting them on lysine,  and what tests might help.  Please visit my thread: How to clear nasal passages in a 6mo kitten, for some ideas that will help you.   Good luck, this is most likely a viral issue that will peek it's ugly head every now and then and is very frustrating.
