I had posted previously about our nephew Scott's messy divorce. We had been on the outs with him for a while but did get together to straighten things out --- after all, life is short! Anyway, we met his new girlfriend (fiance) last week and she is absolutely a doll. Her name is Danielle, she has an 11 year old daughter named Savannah - just 2 years older than our niece Leila. She is a real estate broker and Scott is a mortgage broker so they immediately have a common interest. She has a lot of class --- which unfortunately Scott's soon to be ex does not have. Patti's language leaves a lot to be desired - maybe I'm a prude, but I just hate vulgar language. I had told you a couple of weeks ago about Patti's visit to our house where she told Paul that "Scott couldn't care if you live or die" I was close to just telling her to leave the house at that point. After all Paul's been thru with his health issues, that wasn't too bright to tell him.
Anyway. to make a long story short, we had a really nice visit with Scott and Danielle. And I could see how the kids relate to her and what a good relationship she has with them. Especially Julian (they now call him Jay) Last time we saw him at Patt's house he was very remote and not warm at all. This time as soon as he saw us he ran to us for a big hug and kiss. He's much more relaxed, his schoolwork has improved considerably, so maybe what Scott and Danielle are doing is good for him. We haven't spoken to Patti in a while and I know she'll be annoyed when she hears we visited Scott. Nothing we can do about that.
Anyway, the judge is supposed to finalize his decision on the divorce by the end of Nov.. We''ll just have to wait and see what happens.
