This last week we were up at my parent's house and I had some time on my hands. I was looking through some photo albums of when we were kids. Came across some pictures of us in Halloween costumes. :lol3: It was hilarious. I remember my mom dressing my sister and I up as Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum. :lol2: Mom used to hand make our Halloween costumes. I was about three years old and my sister was six. SO CUTE!!!!

:lol3:

SO my question for you today is What is the first costume you can remember dressing up in as a child? :pumpkin:

My great-aunt made me a black-cat costume when I was in 1st grade. I spent Halloween at her house in Florida, and her neighbor put me in a tree saying I was a cat stuck in a tree for Halloween :lol3:

I was 4 and my parents attempted to dress me as a clown using only things they found around the house. I ended up looking like a dirty snowman that got beat up and vomited on by a rainbow...

The first costume I remember: I think I was 4 years old.  Mom always made our costumes (and not too well, I may add--she HATED sewing!).  She made me into a Jack O'Lantern: orange terrycloth, sack, gathered at the top and bottom, WITH ONE OF THOSE JACK O'LANTERN TRICK OR TREAT PAILS CUT OUT ON THE BOTTOM FOR MY "MASK". Uh, that's bordering on child abuse
.  (I don't remember anything, apart from the eyes, that was cut out for ventilation, and I had trouble breathing.) Seriously, that was unsafe.

I designed and (later) made my own costumes after that.

Oh Marge, :lol2: I have never in my life heard of this before being done!!!!!! BUT, actually it sounds pretty clever. JUST as long as there are a bunch of air holes made. OH this made me laugh. :lol3:

Over the river and through the woods...
The first costume I really remember was a Peter Pan costume mom made for me. She made a little green felt tunic, boots and hat that I wore over a green turtle neck and green stockings. I wore a brown leather belt with one of my dad's old knives hung from it in a knife holder (I think he put duct tape around the blade so it wasn't sharp). I wanted to be Peter Pan because I would listen to the story of Peter Pan on record every night. I remember practicing "crowing". Of course, when I won most original costume at one party they gave the award to "Robin Hood". Come on? Do you see any arrows?? lol

I vaguely remember dressing as a hobo the year before. The main thing I remember is the stick with the bandana sack tied to the end of it for my prop. I think dad said I was Box Car Willie?
