They numbed me up so much I didn't feel a thing, but it was sore for a while afterwards. You can feel pressure, but no pain. They send you home in a special bra that you have to wear for a while and you have to ice it. I'll be honest, I was such a wreck going into it that I cried through the whole thing. :( The people were wonderful to me though. A nurse sat there and held my hand through it all.

can understand how scary that must be, but at least you are on the right road and have a date, without financial worry. All the ver best and many vibes coming your way.

I was worried about the cost for the biopsies since I don't have insurance anymore. But I am not worried about that anymore. My doctor's office called today and told me of a program that would pay ALL of the cost of the biopsy! I went down there and filled out the paperwork and I qualified since I am over 40, I don't have insurance, my income is low and it is for cancer screening. So my appointment is for the 8th. I will be have at least 3 biopsies, 2 in my left breast and 1 in my right. I am hoping for a fine needle biopsy. It will be under a local so I will be able to drive home afterwords. I will be glad to get this behind me. I am believing that it will NOT be cancer!
I never had a needle biopsy done, but I had a fine needle aspirate of a tumour in my breast, which turned out to be fibroma (probably scar tissue). I had a fall about 6 months previously and bruised my ribs underneath where the tumour was. I had no aneastetic at all, and it was uncomfortable rather than painfull. I work in a hospital lab (pathology) and just wend straight back to work. I even had a look at my own smears.....

If you had fibromas and cysts before, it is most likely to be one again this time.

So try not to worry too much, chances are you will be fine. AND you have payment sorted out, which must be a load off your mind.....

I was reading the paperwork and I have to have someone with me to drive. Since my hubby does not drive, (long story here), one of my good friends is going to take me. I am hoping they give me something that would help me raise my left arm high enough. I have bursitis in that shoulder and it is extremely painful to lift it over my head.

I was wondering about the driving part when you mentioned it earlier.  It will be good for you to have a friend along for moral support anyway.  IMHO, you should call them in advance to talk to them about the situation with your bursitis, in case they need to call something in at the pharmacy or make special arrangements.

:yeah: I agree you should let them know ahead of time.
