Tammy simply couldn't turn a blind eye to this family in need! :heart2:

Tammy, always loathe to ask for help, FINALLY gave in and started a chip-in after MUCH encouragement. This mom and babies need vet care; mom will need to be spayed, and with all Tammy's got going on with Lucas, she had no idea how she was going to get them the care they needed, she just knew she had to help. :heart2:

If you can spare ANYTHING - literally every dollar helps! http://tammyskitties.chipin.com/five-kitties-in-need

As Tammy said, where she lives, there's no one to call, no one to help, no laws to protect them and nobody cares. If you can, let's help her get them the care the need! :heart2: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

THANK YOU! :hugs:

Thank you so much Laurie! It's been a very hard day, I had to take the kitties to the vet today because they all have diarrhea and mange, they are also super thin and so is mom.  Mommy cat will be spayed as soon as she is mange free.  And she also needs to gain some serious weight.

It was very difficult for me to take care of them today since I don't have much space, but I decided to put them in the shed in the back of the house, they can't be anywhere near my kitties.

My family is not happy and not very supporting because they say I take on too much and maybe it is the truth, but what would have happen to those babies and that mom all alone on the streets?  Iknow I can't help them all, but I saw these  and can't ignore them.

They will be ok, they were dewormed, they are all on antibiotics and ivermectin for the mange.

The next weeks will be hard, but they are all worth it. I will take pics of them again soon.

Thank you all/

Hugs, TAmmy

I hope they all get well soon! You are wonderful!

I know exactly what you mean about family not being very happy or supporting- I get that too. But it's what makes me happy and I know i'm changing lives, no matter how small. So keep it up! You rock!!!

thank you all, your beautiful comments have made my morning:)   Since one of the kitties is missing (they were 5 and I only found 4) I talked this morning to the old lady who used to feed the mommy cat to ask her if she has seen the missing baby and she told me she hasn't seen him and that she wants to keep the mom, Im not too happy about that, but it might be difficult finding a home for her, so maybe I can get her spayed and give her back to the lady.  The thing that worries me the most is that she is so thin, I dont thing she feeds her well, I will have to decide what to do, because she is the owner :(

The babies are doing so much better, the diarrhea stopped and they eat like crazy, they love canned food and they drink lots of water too.   they are sooo cute, I have to take some pics of them to show you all.

I have  to take them back to the vet on Saturday to see how they are doing.

I want to thank you for helping me with the cost to care for the babies, I appreciate it  and the babies say thank you:)

It's great that the kittens are doing better! Their poor mother is really emaciated; it's so obvious that she needs a lot of good food, vet care, spaying and TLC. It's so fortunate that you found them.

The tiny black baby is not doing well today, I think she is dying :( She won't eat or drind and she is cold.  I'm trying to warm her up, but she seems to weak.  I don't think she is going to make it :(

Oh no :(
Tammy, put some uncooked rice inside a sock an close it with a knot, making a pillow. Warm it up in the microwave for about 30 seconds.... Put this bag in a shoe box, or something, cover with a little blankie, and put him in the box.... It will keen him warm ;):vibes::vibes:

I've never heard of that Carolina, I will do it. What I did was I cleaned her up because her diarrhea is bad and I dried her and put her in a box with the heating pad in low and that warmed her up and then she ate a little, but she doesn't look good. I'm thinking of taking her to the vet later if she doesn't improve.  I have an appointment for monday, but I don't think she can wait.  It breaks my heart seeing her this way.  I also gave her pedialyte.  I will update soon:)  Thank you for everything you've done for the kitties Carolina!

Hugs, Tammy

Tammy, do you have probiotics in there? A wonderful probiotic for kitties is Bene-Bac. Do you think you can find it? Do you have a Petco or Petsmart?
Bene-Bac is often found on the session for small mammals, like rabbits, hamsters, etc. It comes in little tubes, or in powder. It is GREAT for kitten diarrhea..... :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Oh hun... :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: You're doing all you can, and as anyone who rescues mums with babies know, some just won't make it. You're giving this little one the best chance there is. I KNOW how hard this is on you, but sometimes you do everything right, and it isn't enough, so PLEASE try to remember that. :heart3:

If there is no other option for a home, at least you will have had her spayed and she won't have to go through the whole process again.  That, in itself, will help her so much.

Update: Sadly the tiny black girl died this morning :( She was too sick and too weak.  Her brother and two sisters are doing ok, I hope they make it.  I haven't even named them because they looked to sick.  The healthier is the boy( the tabby) he is so cute and so playful, the siamese girl is looking good too, the tuxedo girl is the one I'm watching now , because she seems lethargic at times.

Thank you all for your suggestions and help.

I'm having some problems because the lady who "owns" the mommy cat wants her back, I told her she is being treated for mange and that I will have her spayed.  I wanted the vet to get her spayed as soon as possible, but she doesn't want to do it until she doens't have mange, and I"m angry because  if I give her back to her owner before getting her spayed there is a risk of her getting pregnant again.

I have to say she is a very young mom who doesn't know how to care for her kids very well, she doesn't clean them, I have to  do it, poor girl, she is just so sick herself.

I might have to give her back and pick her up later to get her spayed. she is very sweet and easy to take,so no worries there.  The owner doesn't understand things well, I think she  is not completely sane, but I have to be careful I don't want her angry and telling people I stole her cat.

I'm exhausted....

Tell the "owner" that the cat has mange and that mange is contagious. That will shut her up. There is so much misinformation flying around about everything, it should be easy to convince someone that mange is contagious. Sometimes a lie can save a life. This is one of those times.

:yeah: "The cat and kittens are in quarantine as per the vet's orders".

I'm sorry the little black kitten died. RIP, little one.

Thank you all.  I agree with everyone, but the sad part is I will have to give the lady her cat back.  I will still go every time I can to check on her.  The thing that matters to me the most is  the mom has to be spayed as soon as possible.

Here are some pics I took of the babies this morning:
I took them out to eat, they needed the fresh air, I'm trying to be as careful as possilbe because my cat Fuzzy goes outside and I don't want him to get sick. The kittens spend most of the day inside a shed in the back of out yard.

They went out to eat, they like to get into the plate and get all dirty, so I find it easier to give them their food on a paper

From left to right: Mateo, Sofía and Tabatha

Mateo playing

napping after lunch, Sofía insists on sleeping inside the litter box. I have to keep  it really clean for her.  I have them in the shed, but since it was hot today I took them inside to nap.
