Took bella in for her first shot of FVR-C-P and Rabies and 2nd deworming. Vet looked in her ears and said she most likely has earmites. Its like 30 for the treatment and i couldn't afford it. So I am wondering if anyone has used the treatments sold at petco before?

Update for those who have helped me on here and everyone!

Bella is NOW 8wks LOL and is 2.05lbs!

Ask for some Revolution or Advantage Multi. . .it should be about $10-$12 for a dose. Or Acarexx. . .I don't know how much it costs but I think it's cheap. I don't recommmend using the pyrethrin-based OTC meds, especially for a young kitten.

Agree with Willowy on using a brand name product.

Great that she's now a normal weight, and weighs enough to be spayed.

I drop or two (not more) of olive oil may work. This remedy isnt not sufficient for heavy infections, but may do for easier ones, and isnt dangerous.

The oil will be spread itself inside the ear, and the mites do drown / suffocates.
