hi there!!  i just went to the vet today because my 16 yr old female cat is having problems urinating.  they took urine tests and it came back with blood in the urine along with a lot of bacteria.  the vet also noticed that my cat had a very swollen vagina and find out that it is most likely a mass of turmorous cancer.  she said this is not seen very often with cats or dogs, but she did say it does not look good.  i decided to have her treated for a urinary infection hoping this will help..  the vet said that being it was so swollen and purplish gray bumps, the outcome does not look good.  i love my girl "mercedes" with all my heart, but i feel that by doing test after test, this would only put her at rish for dying due to her age.  i am giving her pain medication along with antibiotics and just praying to god this will at least make her feel better as she progress in her last stages of life.  this is so hard on me because i have no children and she is my child.  i also took my other female cat in today for an eye infection and it turns out that she (Luci) has an ulcer on her eye.  i dont know if this will help at all, but ask your vet about cancer on her private parts.  good luck and you can contact me thru the internet if at all possible.  p.s. if you havent already read this beautiful poem called "the rainbow bridge", i suggest every one that owns a pet and trutly loves it, to read this.  we will all have to go through this sometime in our lives if we have a pet.

I have no words of advice, but I'm sorry you're having to go through this with your kitty.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I'm so sorry. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: And many :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: for you and baby. :heart2:

I'm sure the treatment and pain medicine will help her. See how things go, but our cancer kitty also benefited from a low dose of prednisone (5mg), an anti-nausea medication, and an appetite stimulant. He didn't mind being pilled though.....
