I can't see your pic :( wonder if its my phone?
I'm guessing mama cat is just uncomfortable and hormonal which is making her grumpy with you. Hoping to hear of babies soon!

Nothing as of yet today...right now she's wandering around the bed kneading and purring...talked to the vet yesterday and they said if she hasn't gone by Tuesday then to bring her in, seeings how her expected due date was mid October and we are now approaching the end of the month. Will keep updates about momma and any babies when they arrive!

You and me both! I don't think I can wait anymore..I told her today she has till Tuesday morning to have them. I really don't want to stress her out with a car ride but the vet is really pushing to see her since when they saw her last they estimated mid month..but we also have a hurricane coming tomorrow night so hopefully she will have them and we don't have to worry about making it to the vet the next morning.

I wouldn't bother with a vet trip, unless the vet sees a lot of pregnant cats they aren't experienced at guessing dates. Kittens can be counted from 28 days, what a shame you don't know when she was allowed out to get pregnant, knowing the dates makes things easier.

If she was at the vet 4 weeks ago, and kittens were felt she's likely to be around 8 weeks now.

Some girls get very moody while pregnant, that's why she's turning on you at times. Have you confined her to a room? Girls close to birth need to be confined so they have their kittens in an appropriate place and aren't wandering the house.

HEr getting pregnant was a total surprise...and I'm not going into detail about what happened...because quiet frankly it's none of anyones business..this is her first and last litter because she is already scheduled to be fixed. It's ashame that you didn't notice that she was at the vet 5 to 6 weeks ago now and they gave a kitten count, I'm confident in my vet, just last month I know that the clinic itself fostered a mommy and her babies, they are a very good vet. And yes she has been confined for a few days now because we were expecting them awhile ago. But from time to time she is let out of the room to wander the house with someone close by plus right now she is making sure you are following her.

I'm going to bother with my vet visit because it's a check up, and they especially want to see her where they thought she was due a lot earlier. The well being of my cat is very important.

I honestly don't like judgement passed on me for no reason, I am NOT a bad pet owner because she got pregnant. Trust I'm sure this cat lives a better life than most of us and her babies will have the same.

This is the quote I was going off, posted by yourself:
when I took her to the vet about 4 weeks ago
Which was not 6 weeks ago, possibly 5.  Being a good vet in other areas has nothing to do with counting kittens and guestimating a delivery time.

And a cat older than 4 months who's unspayed and allowed around entire cats can never be called a surprise.

Yes you are referring to my original post that was posted 1 week and 3 days ago...now add 4 to that and you get 5 weeks and 3 days..regardless I don't like your rude underline...yes my cat HAD sex, amazing that is were kittens come from. Like I said I'm not going into the whole story with you. She's having kittens regardless and I'm happy about it, and that's what matters, I have everything taken care as far as the kittens go. I don't like how breeders are the only ones that think their cats can have kittens.

The people who really, really wish all female house pet cats were spayed before they have a litter are the people working in and/or for rescues who have more cats and kittens than they can find homes for, and most of all the very unfortunate people who end up having to take perfectly healthy cats and kittens to be euthanased becase they can't get homes quickly enough.

Let us keep this civil. Yes, we all see the sad side of too many kittens, but this cat will be spayed and the owner needs help and support now.

Jennyranson thank you, that was the reason. I came on here was to get help and support. Sophia herself was one of those kittens. She was brought to me at 4 weeks. She was this ball of fur that hissed and spit, she hated every person that even looked at her. But I managed to get a her wrapped in a blanket and shower her with love. She is now the friendliest cat you will ever meet, if you are a women of course. She's not fond of men. Her kittens will be treated the same and get nothing but love. I understand the importance of getting an animal fixed.

Update: nothing yet..she's still eating and wanting love.

I'm in the same boat as you with my Alice. Unexpected and certainly unplanned pregnancy but she's a very important part of my family and is well loved and taken care of. I have been reading through previous threads and have been getting some great information. I have also got some great insight from some lovely members. I am on pins and needles waiting to hear about Sophia's kittens I cant imagine how anxious you are. Sending good vibes:vibes::vibes::vibes:
