My cat Miss got home yesterday after a night spent at the vet for a sedating
x-ray. (We worked too early to drop her off, so she had to stay)
Upon her arrival home yesterday, she was very, very stressed. Panting,
breathing really fast. Granted, we had taken down our bed to help with
her recovery so she doesn't jump, so that was a huge change.
She got better after an hour or so.
However, today, as soon as my hubby got home, she started breathing faster than
her normal breathing. Not ridiculously so, but there was an increase.
I gave her her pain meds and left her by herself to calm down and she
improved after a while.
I noticed a few minutes ago she was doing the same thing, but now she
is back to her normal breathing.
I should note this was observed while she was resting.
I feel bad torturing her with all these meds (metronidazole twice a day, her Bupranex,
a dose of Luctralose (sp?) to help soften her stool. Could her breathing
changes today be stress related? I know yesterdays were. She is snoozing
now and back to normal breathing. Is it from the Bupranex?
I am just trying to take care of my little patient as best I can.
I am a bit worried that she hasn't pooped, but I know she didn't eat while
she was at the vet overnight for the 24 hours. She inhaled her food
upon returning, and has been eating and drinking (a lot more than usual, maybe the
Buprenex?).
Thanks for any insight.
