Hi. I live in Sweden with my male and female Canadian Sphynxs, and their 3 kittens.

I have owned many cats through the years, but only developed allergies to them a few years ago. At the time I was just a dog owner, but wanted cats badly. I heard that the Sphynx breed might be easier on my allergies, so I started to investigate. I have found that if I wipe them down often, everything works out.

These cats come with a HUGE price tag. I wanted 2, as this breed needs a lot of companionship. To offset the price, the breeder came down on the price of the female if I gave her the first litter from this cat. I thought this a great way for my family to get the chance of experiencing kittens, while having a professional breeder find good homes for them.

In 2 weeks the kittens will be 12 weeks, then ready to leave our home. I am dreading this part. That being said, we have recieved a huge interest from friends and family for this breed. The cats we have are show quality, especially the male. I have decided to have him in his first competition this November in Stockholm. Anyways, I have been reading up and think I might be interested in breeding on a small scale. I am a little sickened at how many cats some breeders are keeping. This is a very special breed, and possibly a solution for all those wanting a cat that don't have bad allergies. However, I am against the breeding machine tactics many use.

So I am reading everything I can about becoming a breeder of this breed. I have so many questions, so I am hoping you all can help me out. :)

Sphynxs are beautiful cats! I hear they're a bit hyper and very energized? I want a sphynx, butI fear they're too energetic for me!

I'd love to see photos!

Hi & welcome to TCS!  My vet's office has a sphynx. She's up for adoption, but has been there so long, she's sort of become the resident cat there. Sometimes her bed is out on the coffee table

in the waiting room, & she's all snuggled up under her blanket.  It's also fun to see what "outfit" she has on that day. One of the receptionist made her some p.j.'s with fire trucks on

them, & a matching blanket!
She's a sweet love bug!!  She will climb up on you for snuggles & kisses!
