Could it be because I just got her some kitty grass? She threw up all her food and some grass.. poor baby
I remember ChiChi used to go in the backyard, eat grass then come in and throw up. I thought kitty grass was good for them.. why do they throw it up? Is that normal?

If they eat grass, they usually have an upset stomach and the grass induces vomiting and they usually feel better.
Hope she will be okay.

Yup, grass could make them throw up..."it's a natural emetic, and it could help the cat to vomit..." One of mine does the same thing Zoey did, the others just digest the grass. Only concern is if pesticides were used on grass, which you don't have to worry about since you bought kitty grass.

Honestly I think she eats it because she likes it and eats everything
I would hope she doesnt have an upset stomach. Although I did find a little bit of hair in there too. Usally I find the hair in her poop
In any case I did not like to see her throw up so out the kitty grass goes

She went back to her food and now she's playing and running around like a freak

Thanks for the quick responses!

Grass is good for kitties, if you found hair in the vomit that means she probably needed to throw it up and the grass helped. It's much easier for them to throw it up then getting a blockage because the hairball gets stuck in the intestines.

Meh are you sure... I hate seeing her throw up. I always associate throwing up as bad
I give her hairball management treats, I dont know if those help or not.

Kitty digestive systems are different then ours, they can throw up and be totally fine and healthy and not feel sick at all. If anything they will feel better after they vomit (well unless they are actually sick but that's different). So if she is just vomiting after she eats grass then it's ok.

After spending lots of money at the emergency vet because of an intestinal blockage due to a hairball I'd much rather let my kitties just throw it up.

I actually was going to get some kitty grass for neo because he has been hacking off and on the past couple days. He cleans ALLLLLL the kittens so I think he is starting to get hairballs

This sounds exactly like my Sage. Months or years will go by and I don't grow grass for her. Then I grow a pot of gras, she eats it then she barfs. If I didn't grow it, she rarely barfs. Then she is back to running and eating like nothing happened. Same thing as Zoey. . .sometimes there is a little bit of hair, sometimes no hair.

She has super short Russian Blue hair so she is not prone to hairballs. Her first hairball was when she was 5 and it was the size of a pea
Her biggest ever was when she was 10 and it was the size of my pinky
All the other "hairballs" were just little smudges of hair, not even in the shape of a ball.

I know y'all wanted to know the details, eh?

Anyway, Sicy, Sage is just like Zoey. If you want to offer her the grass, and not have to clean up, only offer her one blade at a time, and hang on to the blade so she doesn't gobble the whole thing at one go. I notice if Sage eats small nibbles1/4-1/2 inches at a time, and only one blade per day she keeps it down better.

Hmm but then if I just offer one blade at a time and she doesnt barf, isnt that defeating the purpose? Though I just got the grass because I thought it be nice for her to munch on something when she's bored, instead of her toys
I wasnt really expecting her to barf.. and I'd hate to come home and find dried barf on the carpet

Yeah, it's gross. A little marital hint since you're getting married: I just tell my husband that his cat just threw up. It's always HIS cat that throws up. Never mine. Especially the big messes
