Hi, I am not using this as a substitute for a vet visit, but it's a Sunday and I am not sure if this warrants an emergency visit or not.

My 14 y/o DSH female, who had always been a wonderful, healthy cat, seems different. It started about 24 hours ago.

She seems normal and is eating/drinking, but she is walking around with her ears back slightly, and a very confused

expression on her face. She also seems to be "shaking" her head back and forth quite a bit, like a dog drying after

swimming. It seems to be exacerbated if you touch the back of her head, like petting her between/behind the ears.

My daughter (9) commented that she "looks mad." Last night, my wife thought the cat was going to throw up, it sounded

like she was going to, but she never did. Is it possible she's had a stroke or seizure? Her eyes look normal, it's just

her general demeanor. What should I do?

It could be any number of things, from earmites to a stroke. Is there any vet you could at least talk to today? I would certainly get her to a vet tomorrow at the latest..

Ear infection can cause similar issues, it can cause abnormal walking.  For the cat, the whole world is spinning.  Hope it's not serious.

We're going to take her to our regular vet tomorrow. She seems to be doing better, though. She is sitting next to me, watching the Packer game, as usual. I hadn't even considered an ear infection. She is still eating and drinking normally, which is encouraging. Probably nothing too terribly serious. Thanks for your input.

Please post when you have an update on your cat. Hoping it is nothing very serious.
