Hello here, I just joined this site. It is pretty unfortunate what has happened to my cat, and I am wondering if any one can help me out.

my cat ate the absorbent soft pad that is under a chicken inside the packaging 24 hours ago. I was terrified when I found out. He is 11 years old and already been under a surgery for intestinal obstruction 2 years ago. I hope it doesn't get to that point again.

he has been eating and acting normal today, and just vomited a very small piece of that padding.

Any information is appreciated.

All you can do is watch the litter box for no poop and watch for vomiting.  Also, if he stops eating, get him to the vet immediately.

Oh Boy!  Personally I'd get him to the vet as soon as I could.  I would be afraid that if it got to the point he stopped eating etc. it might be too late.  But that is just me.  Let us know what happens and I'll be following the thread to see what other posters say about this type of thing.

I'd be vetting him asap, only know of one cat personally that did the same thing and surgery was required.

I have never had this happen to a cat.  I can see where it might turn serious really fast. Only the vet can tell you what to do.  If it was my cat, I would not wait until the eating and pooping stopped.

Please let us know what happens to your cat.  We are all hoping for the best.
