My 3 year old male cat tore a tendon in his front leg. The leg bends back at the "wrist" where it shouldn't. I have read alot about this online and nearly every site i've been on said that surgery is the only way to fix it.

I took him to the vet and he said I should believe everything I read online and said there will be no need for surgery. He strapped up his leg with bandage and a splint for three weeks. He said this will give the tendon a chance to regrow and knit back together.

You can see in the photo where his leg bends...

After reading all this stuff about surgery online, with no mention of strapping or splints, I was wondering how successful it is? Would this work for my cat?

PS Before we had his leg strapped up, he was running around as normal and still jumping off tables, etc and was definitely not in any pain at all. Just his leg bending weird.

Any info will be appreciated

THanks :)

I have no experience with this.. but it does look painful! Poor kitty!

I am sure the vet knows best and time will heal all.
