I am wondering who else files their money bills in their wallet with all of the bills facing the same way, with them upright and filed in order. :lol3: I think it irritates some people who are waiting in line at a cash register behind me. I have to put all the bills in order in my wallet. Both my husband and I do this with our bills.

Do you keep all of your cash in order in your wallet? Does that mean you are an organized person overall if you do? Does it mean you are an unorganized person overall if you don't? :lol3:

lol, my bills are shoved in my wallet.. folded or not!
I don't carry much cash, and here you get $1 or $2 coins back for change, but all the bills, receipts, and coins just get pushed into my wallet. When I get in the car, I dump any change over a quarter in the parking change drawer. At home, the receipts are tossed in a drawer in the front room for doing bills every Saturday.

I'm organized where I have to be (finances, work, food), but in other areas I let things go.

The odd time that I have cash, it has to be organized. I can't stand it if bills are facing opposite ways and aren't in order.

YUP!  I do too. I am a bit of a neat freak. I really hate it if I get money back from a bank that's not "organized." You think that would be the one place that does that, sense obviously

most stores do not. "You think it would make things easier for them."

I've gotten less careful about this than I used to be; but I did keep them in order and facing the right way.  Habit from cashier work in college I guess!  Lately things are just folded in half and stuffed in there...  But I also don't keep much cash on me.

DH has always laughed because when I put a CD away in a case or in a sleeve and there is a graphic of people on it (picture or otherwise) I have to put it right side up.  I'm glad he loves me in spite of my quirks!

I am very organized in every way but this one.  I worked in a bank for years.  Believe me I know all about how to put money in order.  But I guess I rebel at this and my money goes in my wallet wadded up.   Sometimes, it doesn't even make it to my wallet, but gets dumped in the bottom of the purse.  The other day we were at the bank.  I had to run in to cash a check.  I left my  purse on the seat with hubby.  When I came back and opened my purse and wallet to put in the money, I was shocked because it was all in there with the bills sorted by denominations and face up.  Hubby had fixed it for me because as I said, it drives him nuts.

I keep mine all the same way and in order of smallest to largest $ value.  Receipts go at the back of the notes.  I am an organised person overall too.

I am enjoying reading all of your answers!!! :D So, today I had my hair highlighted and asked my stylist this same question. She said "OH - I MUST keep all of the bills in order.... I have a bit of a obsession about it. IF I don't keep them in order and the heads up, I fear something bad will happen" Now she has me wondering about that superstition..... :paranoid: :lol3: :lol2:

I mostly do, but it depends where I am. In the UK and France it doesn't matter too much as all bills have different colours so you know their denomination at a glance. In the US I am very careful to keep them in order, or better in different pockets in my wallet, since they are all the same colour and I once gave a $100 bill for a $10 and didn't realise it till later. I know the person realised it because she gave me a funny look at the time, which I put down to me being foreign, but I learnt a lesson from it.

Uh-oh.
I'd be happy just to have the bills in my wallet as most of the time, they're strewn about inside my purse. When I receive change, I just throw it all into my purse (or my coat pocket or my jean pocket) and let it go. Every once in a while, when I straighten my purse, then I'll put all the money in my wallet, according to the bill denomination and all in order. And then? As soon as I go to the store, everything is in a jumble again.

A few years ago, I got my winter coat out of the closet to wear....and found over $40! Evidently it had been in my coat from the last time I wore it and I forgot about the money.

Let me say, I don't even OWN a wallet! If I take cash with me it's usually wadded up in my jeans pocket or shoved in a special zipper part of my purse. My mom had to have all bills in order though, so maybe this is my late rebellion? lol
