Hi! I'm new to the site, I joined because I have 3 cats who allow me to live in their home & be a part of their lives (when they want me to be!).  I fully believe cats are awesome creatures, & I'm fortunate to have them in my life. Just a brief introduction to my 3, starting with the first one I got. Maddie is about 4 1/2 yrs old, a beautiful light gray & white tiger. After I lost my husband 4 yrs ago, my son decided I needed something in the house to talk to, as I would be living alone when he returned to college later in the month.  So along comes Maddie, a frightened little kitten. Never having had a cat before, I wasn't quite sure how to interact with her.  At one point, I decided I'd been woken up at night by her for the last time & was going to re-home her. My son talked me into sticking it out, & know, 4 yrs later, I can't imagine life without her! She's extremely independent, only wants to be petted when it's her idea, & when she's had enough, she'll gently tooth your hand.  Next came Minnie, who is actually my son's cat. She came home with him during summer break from college 3 yrs ago & has never left. He adopted her from the vet's office where his girlfriend at the time worked.  She's a gorgeous black & brown tiger, and on the overweight side.  She is initially very timid, but once she gets to know someone, she's quite the snuggle bug!  Last, but definitely not least, is Charlie.  Charlie started out as a wild, stray kitten in the neighborhood, who hung around my house because I always kept fresh food & water out & left my garage door cracked to allow them access. My son was living with me at the time, & with much patience & persistence, was able to get Charlie to trust us & allow us to pet him. When he was old enough, we took him to get neutered & vaccinated, thought we would have him recuperate inside, then decide what to do with him. Well, he made that decision for us & decided to adopt us as his new family.  He is snow white, & has these incredible ice blue eyes.  He's quite the clown, & loves to play & act like a typical little brother to the other cats.  His nickname is "Hoover", because he's very food-motivated & doesn't let a stray piece of cat food go uneaten.  He loves to stretch out in the sun on my screened-in porch or lay on afghans on the couch.  I consider myself very blessed that these 3 cats have found their way into my life & my heart.

Welcome to TCS.  It sounds like you are one of us.  Hoover sounds like Sugar.  No fragment is too small to search out and eat.
