I thought I should introduce myself and my furry family.

I'm Lorraine and this is Pandi today

I found this site whilst surfing the net for information on Feline Cryptococcosis, a very rare disease that Pandi is recovering from. I have started a thread the the 'Health' section which tells her story. There is so little knowledge of this disease, there are only two reported case of cats with it currently in Australia. It is hideous and I would like all cat owners to be made aware of it just in case your cat should be unfortunate enough to suffer it. I fear many a cat may have been put down due to lack of knowledge of the treatment. Please take the time to read the thread.

Misty

Misty came to us one evening, she simply walked out of the scrub. She was the saddest sight I have ever seen, a small cat with two huge eyes and all skin and bone, bent legs and broken tail. Her large teats suggested a recent litter. Her stools contained only grass. Obviously dumped it must have taken all her will to trust that we would care for her and I swear that our beloved cat Char ( a bushfire victim) who had passed away just days before sent her to us. She is now a happy chubby smoochy girl and a fine mouse catcher.

Mia

Mia is the 'pretty one' for decoration only, a mouse could walk under her nose and she wouldn't try to catch it! We found Mia in an animal welfare centre whilst on holidays. I didn't see the shelter sign just the 'Markets here today', so we stopped and found ourselves adopting this beautiful young lady and cutting our holidays short.

Mia is a totally bombproof, free spirit nothing worries her and I have never seen a claw drawn. She spent her previous life as a breeder caged up and now loves her freedom and spends most of her day wandering our property.

Pandi rarely goes outside but all three are inside cats at night to protect the wildlife against them and them against the wildlife.

I have never had a day in my life without a cat, home would not be home without one.

Welcome!

All of your cats are lovely. I have read your post in the health forum and I just have to say Pandi is very lucky to have such a caring and determined mom.

Thank you for your warm welcome, I find I am totally hooked on this site already. I can't wait to log on each morning to see if jcribbs has had any luck with catching the two feral kittens. I take my hat off to her for her determination and caring.
