Help Please!!!

Hello every one my name is Janice and, I recently had to move in with my boyfriend's mom I have a male adult cat and a male adult dog. His mother has 2 dogs of her own, and my dog and her dogs already know each other they were from the same liter and they have been playing together since they were born. I don't know how I should get my cat and her dogs comfortable with each other. If any one can give me advice I would really appreciate it. I'm very worried about my cat I keep him in my room and the dogs out all he does is hide even from me sometimes, and when I do get them comfortable with each other how do I keep the dogs from trying to play with him? I will appreciate any insight.

When I first moved in with my now husband, he had 4 dogs that had never lived with cats and I had 1 dog and 3 cats. I started like you are doing by keeping them in the bedroom, sometimes when the dogs were out I let the kitties into the rest of the house so they knew where everything was I did this for about 3 weeks, then I made it so the cats could get in and out of the room but the dogs couldn.t at first I did this in the evening when we were all in so I could keep an eye and slowly it worked, telling the dogs to leave when they got a bit to interested and by staying calm. It takes time but it can work good luck
