Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary (7 years!) so tonight we're going to splurge and go out to dinner. Normally, we would go to an Italian restaurant or a steakhouse but we discovered a Mexican restaurant over the summer and absolutely LOVE it! Keep in mind, the only "Mexican" restaurant we had locally before was Taco Bell, so this is such a nice change. It's called El Jinete (anyone know what that means? Rigel?) and it's privately owned. From what I understand, everything from the tortillas to the salsa is made from scratch. And GREAT margaritas!

So, what is your favorite restaurant and why?

Happy Anniversary! Hope you have a super time.

One of our favorite restaurants is Outback. Also like Olive Garden.

Applebees also - we were there yesterday - their 2 for $2 0 is a great deal.

DH's favorite around here is a family-owned Swabian restaurant, while mine is a family-owned Chinese restaurant with a big buffet. Both have great food, reasonable prices and a cozy atmosphere.

We discovered a local Mexican restaurant earlier this year and LOVE it. It's called El Rinconcito Mexicano.
I love when you go there they give you chips and salsa and the meals are huge. It costs about $30 for both of us to eat and I always have leftovers. They send out coupons in the local coupon book too.

El Jinete means "The Horseman". Now why they named their restaurant that I don't know. :dk: :lol3:

My current favorite is a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant run by a Syrian lady. Unfortunately she keeps odd hours (lunch only on weekdays, closed on Sunday. . .and I usually eat out on Sundays) and I can hardly ever eat there :(. But the food is great. I like sushi, too--I have enjoyed most of the sushi restaurants I've been to, so no real favorite.

Oh that's a tough one!  When I'm visiting my family there is a Greek restaurant I have to go to (or get takeout).  My family has been eating there since they were basically a little shack.  The restaurant has moved and expanded a few times.  It also burnt down once; but they rebuilt it.  The son of the owner now runs it; but I've seen the man who started it there since too.  They are from Greece and very nice.  My Gram said she was there once and was trying to remove the meat from a skewer and sent the whole thing onto the floor.  The owner saw it happen and had them bring her a new one.  Gram was so embarrassed!  But the man was very personable.

Locally there is a private owned Italian place I like.  They are the only place I can get Italian Wedding Soup that even comes close to my Gram's!  But usually if DH and I get to do a special occasion out we head toward the beach and go for a seafood buffet.  DH always lets me pick.

I used to love the Outback for their French Onion Soup. They stopped carrying that soup in a lot of their restaurants in PA, so we hardly ever go there anymore. Our Mexican restaurant, Casa Sanchez, makes the best margaritas! When I go out for dinner with the girls (co-workers), we always end up there, just for the drinks as my GF loves the daiquiris there, too. Rick and I have started to go there, too. Even my MIL loves the place, so we take her there often.

Favorite restaurant is probably a toss up between Miyabi's (Japanese hibachi) or Wild Wing Cafe (bar/wing place)! Miyabi's has the best hibachi in town, although I do enjoy going to the others as well. Wild Wing has great food too and so many flavors to choose from for wings/chicken, as well as having buff chips (handmade chips with bleu cheese crumbles on top).
