Ella escaped from the house this morning when my neighbor went to check on the cats. She ran out saw a dog and jumped over the fence. She litterally vanished from there and could not be found. After hours of searching she has to be hiding somewhere and is scared. I wish I was home to look for her. I did contact the shelter and give them mine and Ellas info. I put up an add on Craig's list saying she was lost with her picture. I called my friend and she is going to stop by and look for her after she gets off work and set a trap for her tonight and see if we have any luck that way. All my neighbors know she is missing and has my number to call me if they see her. I will send my friend to get her if they do. I hope she comes back soon, hate that she is outside alone and scared now from the dog.

When will you be able to look for her?  I assume she is missing from your house?  They are usually not far when they manage to escape.  I do hope you/your neighbor find her tonight.

I won't be back in town till late tomorrow night. One of my neighbors called and said he saw her but he was scared of cats. I called my friend and had her rush out there. Either it is a very dirty Ella who suddenly has spots or my neighbor saw a different cat. The trap is officially set and hopefully she can catch Ella and not one of the neighborhood cats. I was so happy that Ella had been spotted, and even worse now that I am not there. I really hope she does not leave the area. There is a wooded area behind my house, and across the street. I live in the back corner of the neighborhood so she would have to really explore to hit the main road. I hope she is just lurking nearby and will get hungry enough to go in the trap or just hang out near the house at least.

Yay I just got the best call/ birthday present ever! My friend went back out there just to make sure Ella was not around before she went to bed. My neighbor who had spotted her was outside and I had talked to him earlier in the evening. He saw them set the trap and walked with them to exactly where he had seen her. She was not there but near by sitting on a fence. My friend called out Ella Bella which I call her sometimes in a affectionate way and she started talking back. She was so scared and glad to find someone who knew her name she ran up to my friend and is now safe. She was loaded with treats and love for me. I asked my friend a bunch of questions to make sure it truely was Ella. She needs a bath from what I hear, she is filthy from her adventure. I can't wait till I get home and I can give her a big hug. Normally I am frustrated when she runs out, but this time I was so scared I would never see her again I am extreemely relieved she is safe. The thing about Ella is she was pretty feral when I caught her as a kitten looking for food in the dumpster at work. She took a while and the addition of another kitten to mellow her out. She has been pretty temperamental and angry if things are not just her way. She seemed to have a big personality change with her spay, and became nicer. I am just glad she came to my friend instead of running away or attacking her for trying to catch her. I can't even begin to describe how happy I am she is safe. :D  :woohoo:

It is definitely a huge load off my mind. I wish I would have just asked my friend to watch the cats but she has been very busy with working and going to school, plus her rescues I didn't want to add extra to her load. She is truly awesome and will always be there for me when I need her.
