Morning, guys!

Thankfully it's Friday....now I just need 4:00 and then a long weekend. I have off work for the Columbus Day holiday.

So my question for those of you who work outside the home: When is your next holiday off work?

I have off Monday for Columbus Day. Then it's Veterans Day in November, followed by two days off over Thanksgiving. (Sometimes I think I live for holidays, just to not have to work!)

All of the UK's public holidays are finished for the year other than Christmas, but i've still got some holidays left from work, and l'm taking two of them next Friday and Monday

I have Monday off for. . .well, I don't know what to call it. Technically Columbus Day, but in this state it's called Native American Day because the Natives aren't real fond of Columbus, and there are more of them than there are of him around here. . .:tongue2:. Then Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving in November (Thanksgiving is awkward. . .to have Thursday off but have to work on Friday and Saturday? Weird). There are 10 federal holidays but I always forget at least one when I try to list them.

I don't get paid holidays (technically being part-time), and the day after is always so crazy, that I'm not sure they're worth it :/. But I do plan to sleep very late on Monday! :D

l'm on day 12 of 13 off. We got tomorrow off in lieu of Monday, which is our Thanksgiving up here.

After that, if production needs warrant, we won't get Remembrance Day off and won't have another holiday until Christmas, which will be another 13 days of freedom.

Over the river and through the woods...
All Saints Day (there's no separation of church and state here).
I went to a Catholic school and LOVED having Nov. 1st off! We used to flaunt it to the public school kids.

I have Monday off for Columbus day, then Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. BUT, I do have Oct. 15 and 16 approved off (birthday) so there's a 4 day weekend with pay, and the day after Thanksgiving plus I got the day before and after Christmas approved off so I'm living for that 5 day weekend! My job is closed on the weekends so that is a given, but it really sucks having to work the day before and the day after a holiday. I did it for years and empathize with people who do it. It sucks.

I can understand that. I never understood Columbus Day. Wasn't he trying to find the East Indies and got lost? Oh, here's some place that isn't claimed so now it's ours. Forget that there ARE people here, they don't matter. I honestly think it's a stupid holiday, but it's around our wedding anniversary so I'm guaranteed a 3 day weekend at my job. Actually, it falls exactly on our anniversary this year so it works out well.

I'm with ya there.  I wish DH had Monday off.  I could use him around here!
