Can a 6-week old live on KMR alone for a few days?

I have a 6-week old little guy who is not eating well. He eats but just a few bites. We're working on his issues but in the meantime I'm syringe feeding him KMR. I'm just wondering if KMR alone, or with the little canned food he eats, is sufficient nutrition and calorie wise for a few days until he gets better? Also, does anyone know how much KMR a 1lb 3oz 6-week old should have per day? The can only talks about younger pre-weaning kittens.

Thanks.

I'd syringe some chicken/turkey baby food or canned food mixed with KMR into him. I'm sure he COULD live off KMR alone for a few days but I think adding some solids would be better.

Is he an orphan? They're usually a bit slower than kittens with siblings and their mum to copy

You can try using raw meat (minced) and put a small amount in his mouth or hills AD which is made for stringing. Sometimes smearing it on their paws will make them lick it off

As to how much kmr I'd be feeding as much as he'll take every 3-4 hours

He could live off the KMR alone but I think it would be better to include some meat in the form of a highly digestible pate style wet food from chicken, turkey or duck or rabbit. .I would mix into the KMR a little of a high calorie paté style canned kitten food or 'all life stages' food like Wellness Chicken.

He should be getting around 200-250 kcal / kg.    19 ounces is just over half a kilogram so that = 100-125 calories a day , or la bit more more if he 'll eat it. & I agree with missymotus , I would feed him about every 3-4 hours.

He's not really an orphan. I think he's got a mama out there somewhere but this little guy and his brother walked up to a mechanic shop and sat there crying so they called our rescue. I've only had them for four days so I'm assuming that they were with their mom until a few days ago or so. They are very, very skinny though so they haven't got much food from mom. The brother is eating just fine but this little one is much more nervous than his brother and I think that may play into him not eating a lot. However, after I wrote the above post earlier today the kitten did actually eat a full meal. I really hope he keeps it up. I'll keep syringe feeding him some too since he needs all he can get and for this kitten I think it's also working to get him to trust me (he's been hissing and running from me for the most part).

They are such cute little guys but in such poor shape. They are just over a pound at six weeks and had a very bad flea infestation. But I hope they'll keep improving. They have a lot of potential and the braver kitten is turning out to be a real sweetheart.
