A good friend of mine just called and his wife has been admitted to Saint Vincent's Hospital with flesh eating bacteria. They did surgery on her today, and removed a lot of skin from her cocsis and her back, she will be ICU for quite awhile and then go to the burn unit where she will stay in isolation for up to three month.
Her name is Keri and she could use your prayers.

Oh my gosh, that sounds terrible. I'll be keeping Keri in my thoughts.

I don't think he was being completely upfront with me. I have been researching this and what I am finding doesn't jive with what I was told. The woman in question is huge, she is diabetic and does not take care of herself at all. She also has horrible hygiene habits, so I think he got confused and she just has a very severe perhaps life-threatening infection as a result of poor hygiene. I met her a few years ago and could believe that scenario more than flesh eating bacteria. But at any rate, she could use prayers as she is going to be in hospital a very long time.

It's possible that this lady has Cellulitis or Eosiniphillic Fasciitis rather than the Necrotising Fasciitis. Cellulitis is common in extremely overweight people (260lb+).

Sending prayers from Down Under.
