I found this site when doing some research.......didn't realize there was a forum devoted to cats. View media item 133765
My two grown Sons also each lost a cat right after that from old age, so it has been a very tough few years.   I swore I would never go through that again, but then Lucky came into our lives.  He was just a little kitten and my Son found him under the car in front of him at a red light.  He stopped the lady driving the car and fished the little guy out of the wheel.  He would have been killed if she pulled out, so hence the name "Lucky."  Here he is the day we brought him home.

I live with my one Son and he has a Cat named Chewy, also a male, and from the day lucky came to live with us Chewy and Lucky have been inseperable.  You never see one without the other.  Chewy is the black and white one, Lucky is all black.

We also have about 6 to 10 stray cats that I go to the shop and feed every night.   I feel so bad about the terrible life they live in the wild, but the rescue centers down here can't take one more animal in, they are just jammed.  There is one little white kitten I am going to try to trap and save because her Mom has abandoned her and her Dad is acting not good toward her, and I am afraid what is going to happen. Here are some of the ones that show up every night for dinner.

Sorry about the long story, but we have a lot of cats to tell about.  Looking forward to chatting with other people who share a love of them like we do.

Whoops, I thought I could post pictures like I do on the car forums I am on, but it didn't work.  I'll have to see what I did wrong.

Thanks for the nice welcome and for the info on posting pictures.  Tomorrow I will look at that to see what I did wrong.

Good news, I trapped the white kitten tonight and tomorrow I am going to work on finding someone to take her in and adopt her out.  She is in the office of my shop right now and really not all the freaked out for a stray.   She is going to make someone a fantastic little pal.

I took Snowball to the vet yesterday and got her a clean bill of health.  Today there is a pet fair at Petco and I am taking her to see if I can find her a good home.   She is really a sweet little cat and spent the night at my shop last night exploring everything.  She is not afraid of me or my Son at all and climbed up on my lap and went to sleep.  Hope she finds a good loving home, she deserves it.

Snowball isn't white!  She's pointed.  She was born cream-colored, but the "points" develop once the kitten is exposed to cooler temperatures.  She will always have blue eyes, too.

Very pretty cat!

Really ?  Please  tell me about pointed, I know nothing about that.  BTW, is that a hot rod in your avatar ?  Reason I ask is, my Sons and I build them.

That's a 1923 Model T Touring.  A car with quite a history; Norm Grabowski looked it over and said he is almost certain it was started in Tex Smith's shop in LA.  It has to be old; the body was built by Cal Automotive, and they've been out of business for 40 years.  But it never got finished until I bought it and finished it about 11 years ago.

The pointed gene is what we usually recognize as "Siamese."  The classic Siamese is "seal pointed," or has points the brown color of a seal.  Pointed cats can be tabby pointed (like yours, and commonly called "lynx pointed"), tortie pointed, silver pointed, flame pointed (like our Flambe), etc.  The kitten is born sort of off-white.  The points show up on the parts of the cat that are the coolest.  If you could keep the cat in a 100 degree room for a few months, they might have very little color.  If you kept them in a freezing room for several months, they would have almost no cream color left.

With that gene comes blue eyes.  A very distinctive voice seems to go with it, and many owners swear there are other side effects, many of which are open to argument.

Siamese pointed cats were some of the first "purebred" cats imported into the US, and the genes are so common that they show up spontaneously all the time in the general population in the U.S.

By the way, your kitten was almost certainly dumped. She's old enough that she wouldn't tame that fast if she wasn't very accustomed to being handled.  So, you probably saved her life; she almost certainly doesn't have the skills necessary to live on her own.

Thanks to everyone for all the information.  No, I know her parents, I feed a bunch of cats every night at my shop (6-10 usually) and Smokey and his GF were the parents.   The Mom started bringing this whitish one and her Brother (I thiink Brother by the fact he was much bolder) around about a month ago.  All of a sudden the Brother disappeared, as has happened to so many that we have been feeding for the past few years.  This little whitish one was very shy and would hide under my car, but over time I got her to come out to me for treats.  To be honest, I am really surprised she has become so tame so quickly, but she will come to me and purrs like mad.

Hi! I just found your post. We have a lot of guys here, real men love cats is one of our favorite sayings. I would love to see some of your cars. My daughter is a gearhead, but she had to sell her last project before she could finish it, a 1975 Cadillac Hearse. It couldn't seat but 2 and it creeped out the neighbors. Your cats are adorable, btw, and I look forward to seeing the little one grow up.

Hey Don! Don't know where you're at in FL, but I live in Orlando and travel to the panhandle several times a year, if you ever need some help with anything. :wavey:
