Poor Kitty Belly!!!

First let me start by saying we are going to take him in, but we have to wait till we get paid to do so.

We adopted our boy cat in May, and he has become a VERY integral part of our family.  He is my daughters best friend, and my sleeping partner every night.  He is the most loving sweet boy ever, but lately he has had some problems on his belly.

I dont know if he is mowing, and irritating his skin, or if he has an allergy, or a sickness.  We have another cat in the house and she doesnt have a problem at all so I am thinking it isnt something contagious....

It started as a little red patch around one of his nipples, and i thought maybe him and the girl were roughousing and she got him, as she can be quite a snot when she wants to be. 

It went away and then he started losing a bit of hair on his tummy.  Now it has gotten to be a lot of hair on his belly and he has these little red patches    Makes me sad, as he is CONSTANTLY licking it, so I know its irritating!!

Anyone ever seen anything like this?  I am almost betting its allergies to something because his eyes are always watery too..... Im thinking we just picked the sensitive cat!!!

Has anyone seen this?  Or know what it could possibly be 

Google "alopecia in cats".  It is caused by a number of things...allegies to fleas, food, stress.  Also called hot spots.  I have had cats with this.  Look into a spray called "Vetericyn".  We use it on our horses.  My son uses it on his dog for alopecia also.  Google it and you will see how well it works.

But this is not to take the place of your vets advice.  I hope you can get your sweet, beautiful boy in soon.

Thanks!!  i have never had a kitty with dermatological issues so this is something new for me.  He is only a little over a year old, so I just want to make sure he has a good long healthy life.  My daughter would be DEVASTATED if anything happened to him!!
 

It could also be an allergic reaction to something in his environment.  Have you changed litter or food recently?
 

No, but we did switch just yesterday to a sensitive skin food, so we will see if that helps at all in the meantime till we can get him in!
