Masquerade is sick again....really bad this time...

He had stoppped eating, drinking and using the litter box....

we took him to the vet though, and they ran a few tests, i was on a tight budget and everything is over priced in this new town (just moved to and oil town...good pay....higher prices....) so they did what they could.

He was running a fever of 104.87, the Vet...nurse lady took his temp with 3 diffrent things, she didnt want to think it was so high, but he was burning up, and his nose was really dry. they found a sensitive tight spot in his tummy and found out his entire digestive system had stopped, he still had food in his stomache from more than a day ago and was blocked up entirely....

He got and enema and some antibiotics though, and has been eating and drinking today, and moving around much more than he was yesterday, though he still looks horrible, but clearly not in so much pain. 

It also seems his fever broke. So i'm really hoping he will be ok. they said it didnt look too good when we were there.... he just needs to be stable for two more weeks and we will be able to afford whatever he needs done.

Poor guy has been through so much since he came to us, i feel so terrible for him, i'm looking forward to the day he will happy and healthy after all he has been through. i would be devastated if i lost him.

Keep an eye on him.  If he doesn't start improving by tomorrow, I'd call back.  Also, you might want to ask around for a different vet with more reasonable prices in case you need a second opinion.
 

luckily he is doing much better today, he is playing with my sisters cat and walking around, his poor nose is chapped and has a good cut on it but other then that he seems to be recovering nicely, as soon as we get a paycheck in we are going to take him in again and get his tempurature and everything checked out.

Have you talked to your vet about a payment plan. If they would agree, you could go back now for a follow up.
 

Have you thought about saving for a vet fund?  I don't know what you can afford, but once he is well putting (say) $10 per month into a specifal account would hopefully gradually build a fund for him.

yeah, the vet metioned something we could do that is kind of like a loan id have to apply for online, but im not fond of the set up and by the time we got the loan we will have the money to do it ourselves anyway.

Also, once we get our own place we are talking about taking in a kitten that wont make it if someone doesnt step in. poor guy is in ROUGH shape, and we will have the money (and i will have the time) to take care of him and totally fix him up and give him a second chance. My husband is working in the oil fields now and making almost 4x as much as he did at his last job, besides, masq needs a brother to take his energy out on.

I don't mean a loan.  I mean you set up a separate account of your own and pay into it every month or week - however often you get paid - so you have something for when a cat or kitten needs it.
