Good morning, it's been a while since I posted here and the time has come. I found a kitten that has a sever deformety to his hind legs and tail. I am not sure if it is what is called a twisted kitty or just a severe defromety, his tail is all zig zag as well. He has no usage of his back side and is dragging it along. He eats well, is alert and his stool is firme and normal. Anybody out there that has any experience with this/ (Of course a Vet visit is planned asap.)

Yea, the picture isnt working for me either. Try inserting it as a picture instead of an attachment. That would be the button above the text box that looks like a photo of a house and sun.
Ive heard of kittens with these types of problems before. Sometimes its neurological damage, sometimes its broken bones, sometimes its malnutrition. Luckily however, if caught early enough, it can be fixed and the kitten will regain most if not all control of its back legs. And even if they dont, they have tiny carts made for kittys so they can walk again.

Bless you for taking in this special kitten.:vibes:

The picture worked for me. I've never seen it before, but i've heard many on here talk of 'twisted leg syndrome' which i'm assuming is what it is.

Here is a link to some treatments and therapy that people use: http://www.showcatsonline.com/x/caring-for-a-kitten-born-with-a-twisted-leg.shtml

But definitely have him/her seen by a vet to confirm and make sure its not something different... however the bottom of the page says this, so make sure to be informed:

"Most veterinarians are not familiar with twisted leg syndrome. It is not unusual for the veterinarian to assume it was born with a more severe deformity and recommend euthanasia. Please tell your vet about this condition and how it usually corrects on its own. You may be saving the kittens life!"

Doesn't look like twisted legs that I've seen in other photos, and with the tail kinks it sounds like something else is going on. Hopefully the vet can help you.

after looking at the 2nd FB page (Dot), I think that's what he has - spina bifida
