First red flag here is meat byproducts - notice they do not specify what kind of meat it is. That, I wouldn't like in a cat food. Carrageenan is another additive I don't really think is good for cats, but it is in most cat foods and is hard to avoid (but if you really want to check out Nature's Variety 95% Instinct). And the last thing, is menadione sodium bisulfite complex. This is a synthetic source of vitamin K, check out these articles on why this is bad: http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/the-only-approved-vitamin-k-supplement-in-pet-food.html, and http://www.naturalnews.com/024244_food_pet_sodium.html.Ingredients

Did you mean Whiskas Poultry Platter Pâté?? Lol I'm confused!Among inexpensive cans, I think Friskies Poultry Platter Pate is about the best I have been able to find.
If you don't mind to store the leftover in a small plastic container in the fridge and add a little hot water when it is time to feed,
Innova Cat & Kitten cans are very reasonable at PetFoodDirect.com,
(select "AutoShip" for an additional discount - I think I pay around $16. for twelve 13.5 oz cans)
and it is WAY better than Friskies.
You can mix some of his favorite cheap food in with it at first until he gets used to it.
