We rescued a kitten whom we named Fingers on the 18th, she had solid poo then but no longer. We have been feeding her both formula and wet food. (Wellness and Natural balance). She is 6 weeks old, kind folks on here helped me figure her age out :) She is not dehydrated, still has an appetite and is playing just as hard as before. I have photo's of it here, to help better describe it.

I hope I did that picture thing right.

We have a vet appointment set for the 29th but I am in need of everyones thoughts, tips ect... Thankyou

Looks like I didnt do the picture the right way, so I will straighten that out real quick, hopefully.

If you can not tell by the picture, her poo has kind of a brownish yellow cloudy look to some of it. Other parts just look brown.

How often (how many times in a day) is she pooping like this? Is that blood we see in there?
Also, when did she start having this poop? When you introduced the wet food, by any chance?

Have you tried giving her probiotics? Benebac works great for kittens transitioning food - probiotics could really help her, IMHO.... Has she been to the vet yet?.:wavey:

No blood, my phone just doesnt take great photos. We have not taken her to the vet yet but we have an appointment for her first visit on the 29th. We have only had her a few days. Today, just about 2 hours ago was the first time her poo has been like what is pictured above. Before her poo had solid turds. Yesterday it had been a bit watery looking but still had shape. This here is just as you can tell a runny blob of poo.

:( I have not tried probiotics, but I will get some asap if it will help. I'm a nervous wreck when it comes to her, haha, I do not want anything bad to happen.

Oh and I have been giving her wet canned food for about 3 days now, would it be bothering her just now?

What was she eating before she started pooping like this? What was she eating when she had solid poop? Was her diet changed? Did you ADD the canned food? or was she already eating it?

Yes, probiotics will help :vibes::vibes::vibes:

She had not eaten for almost two days before I got her. Something happened to her mother, and an older lady took her in but didnt know what to do. She was given to me. The first day I ONLY bottle fed her formula, then the next night I introduced a small amount of canned and she ate it fine. I am still currently feeding her formula as well, just in case, but not so often.

Maybe I am over feeding? I dont have a set amount of times I feed her, I'm home all day and pretty much feed her when she acts hungry.

I think it is the change of food.... And IMHO probiotics should help.... But she should probably have a fecal done to see if she has parasites as well....
Try to see if you get Bene-Bac at PetSmart - it works great for kittens in that situation :vibes:

She just pooped again and I looked at it, looks the same as in the picture but now she is back to being a crazy playful kitten.... I can't make it into town until at least tomorrow.

Keep a good eye on her - if she gets lethargic, appears to be sick.... Take her to the vet at once. Kittens can turn to the worst quickly.
Make sure she is well hydrated, drinking water well, and eating. :wavey:

I will. Actually, she had not been drinking water on her own. Until tonight actually. I had been mixing water in with her food and formula. I had put a small water bowl down for her to get used to though but she didn't know what to do. Today while playing, she accidentally put a paw in it and finally noticed it for real haha. She sat and drank quite a bit :)

Just an update on Fingers. We could not find any probiotics for kitties at the local pet stores today, so we are going to Petco tomorrow.

However, we bought her some unflavored, natural yogurt full of 'em. She likes it just fine plain, so I let her eat a bit. Already, her poo is taking form again. Yay!

My kitten had this only few weeks ago. We wer told told to feed her a special diet of this vet food called specific. she also had a weeks worth of medicine and she is fine and dandy now. dont no  if this helps but might be best to have a trip to the vets.
