I have tried so many, clumping and non-clumping. But I always come back to Catsan crystals non-clumping. It is a little more expensive than some but the cats like it, they don't seem to tread it through the house like some, especially clay litters, and it holds in odour, though I do use litter freshener as welll. All 8 trays get scooped at least once a day into a sealed bin. But I would like to ask Cat Person about the Hybrids - why not clumping for them? Is it because of the size of their feet? I find that the bigger the cat the less likely they are to get litter caught in their claws. I always know when little Biscotte has used the one at the top of the stairs!! So I wondered.

I get the Special Kitty stuff from Walmart when Maxx Scoop isn't on sale...but I find SK way to dusty and it drives me. MS has a bit of dust but its tolerable.

Same here. LOVE Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat litter. :nod: I also started experimenting with Arm & Hammer clumping litter. It is completely dust free like Dr. Elsey's. But, I will always have two or three of my litter boxes filled with Precious Cat. :bigwink:

I've used Cat Attract a couple of times and the cats love it, but I can't afford to use it as my regular litter all the time. I also tried Precious Cat litter and hated it. Very little dust but also absolutely NO odor control. I ended up having to scoop every time one of the cats pooped. One time a kitty pooped in the box behind the couch in the middle of a piano lesson. The stink was so bad I checked to see if she had covered it--which she had. My poor piano student had to smell that for the last 20 minutes of her piano lesson. I may have just gotten a bad bag of litter, but I'm not about to spend the money on it just to see if it works better the second time.

Here is an excellent video  with demonstrations of the different types.. Mimi Litter is the silica gel, solids-- stir in liquid.

Arm & hammer is really great at odor control and it seems to do well at not falling apart (the clumps)

I buy mine at BJ's, a 40 lb box for $13.

I tried worlds best and it SUCKED. I threw it away after 2 days of use, Its made out of corn and smells gross, and has no odor control.

thankfully he's never done this to me..the only time he went beside the box was when the humidity in the basement got bad enough to make the pine litter damp.....yuck we  got rid of that fast.I didn't blame him at all for avoiding soggy pine granuals

I have many cats. I have been using World's Best Multiple. I replaced all litter boxes with this brand as usual, but I did fill one of their boxes with Odour Busters.. I just cleaned the boxes. I was surprised that the cats used the box with Odour Busters more than the one's that had fresh World's Best!! AND it is half the cost! OB is a little heavier in scooping, but it clumped extremely well, no smell, and less tracking than WB! I will be changing over completely..glad I took the leap and tried this product.

I've tried many litters throughout the years and World's Best Multi Cat is the best I've found.  We have five cats and we use it in all of our boxes aside from two Breeze litter boxes which currently contain Feline Pine.  I have two boys with mild asthma and World's Best has been the safest natural choice thus far.  The cats seem to enjoy it too as they never defecate/urinate outside of their boxes

Bazinga was never picky about what litter I would get her, so as long as it was clumping and not overly perfumy.  So I'd usually get Paws and Claws brand from the local Tractor Supply Co. store.

That changed when Sam and Lizzie joined us. They had come with a box of Tidy Cats Scoop for Multiple Cats; when they ran out I switched them over to what I already had.  That was when the pooping issues started; for 3 weeks Sam would sporadically poop outside of the litter box.  After putting out an extra box and going back to Tidy Cats for all three, no accidents!  Yay!

Have noticed that with Tidy Cats the urine spots in the box tend to get a little sludgy.  But I'll take dealing with that over Sam leaving 'presents' throughout the house!
 

I've been using arm and hammer, multi cat clumping litter for 2 years now. Max scoop for 1 year before that, and pine pellets or whatever wood those pellets were made of for 4 months prior.

I wonder how good those clay litters are, since our cats lick off those paws that have been in there...

What I've been using is Jonny Cat Complete.  Big Lots has it for $3.00 for a 20-pound bag.  I have 5 litter boxes for 6 cats.  It works, but doesn't last forever.  Right now all the boxes need to be dumped, washed, and refilled.  4 boxes are the kind with air filters made of zeolite.

QUESTION: I recently got an e-mail advertising using bulk Zeolite for cat litter.  It's more expensive than the clay stuff.  It is touted as being good for odor control.  I might try it, but I'm asking you all, has anybody used zeolite for cat litter?  Please let me know the details.  Does it last longer?

I worked for the biglots around my house and I never seen anything for 3 dollars that is catlitter but of course even though that was part if my aisles I never really looked plus I only worked there for 3 weeks and they layed me off cause theydidbt need me after theiir grand opening

I recently started using the Blue Naturally Fresh Cat Litter.  Because of the color(darkish brown), my baby was kinda peeked in at first & looked "confused" but now she's used to it.  I always prefer flushable and I was using Swheat Scoop.  Although this litter costs a little more than SS, I like it so far - the littler does not have chemical scent/fragrance but works pretty good with covering the littler odor.  Also, seems lasting longer than SS.
 

Hey what is the best one to use to cover the scent of a cat in the litterbox that ain't expencive cause I'm tired of the smell when I clean and I'm afraid that when I get my own place the landlord would have that as a condicion
