My kitten is about 8months old and I am not so sure if she went into hear or not, but I can feel stuff moving around in her belly and she might be pregnant. I am not sure if that is possible or not... Any comments or suggestions? What sucks is that we were going to get her fixed but were not sure if she was old enough.

If she's been outside or a tomcat has been inside with her, then, yes, she almost certainly is pregnant :(. Cats can get pregnant as young as 4 months, almost all of them by 6 months, and you don't always notice when they go into heat. I would suggest a spay/abort but if you can already feel the kittens moving it's likely too late. Contact your vet to find out what kind of prenatal care she should be receiving.

For future reference, kittens can be spayed/neutered as young as 8 weeks, as long as they weigh at least 2 pounds (although some vets have different preferences) . It would be great if you could have the kittens spayed/neutered before they go to new homes so this doesn't happen to them.

Oh, and after she gives birth, keep her inside and away from toms until she's spayed. Cats can get pregnant again right away after giving birth. Ask your vet how soon after birthing she can be spayed. My vet says 9 weeks, but some will do it sooner.

Agree with Willowy- she is likely pregnant.

If you can feel the kittens moving you are likely within two weeks so that is one way to help guess how far along she is. Let her eat as much dry kitten food as she wants and try to give her wet food as well. Now is the time to make a kittening box, decide where she's going to be, and prepare yourself for labor. Also, make sure she's staying inside so she doesn't have her kittens somewhere you can't find them, and keep her in while she's nursing- cats can go back into heat quickly after giving birth and she can get pregnant again. Looking at older posts can give you a lot of information on how to prepare for all this. And, ask as many questions as you need to!

Poor girl she's very young, you may not have noticed a first kitten call they are not as loud or obvious as further heat cycles. She could also have silent heats. Any female kitten 4 months and older who's been outside will more than likely get pregnant. Take her to the vet for a checkup, she'll likely need to be wormed as well.

Agree with Willowy on neutering the kittens before they are homed at 12 weeks and making very sure to keep her in until spayed. You can get her spayed at the same time as the kittens.
