Outdoor cats get plenty of exercise for the most part. But for us cat guardians who want to keep our cats indoors as it seems much safer for cats, how do you keep them from getting obese? I'm pretty strict on feeding exact recommendation on science diet bag, but my cats are young, so no worries so far. One thing I have found, and super cheap, is folding paper airplanes. Stealth and Loco love it. I think they see it as a bird to chase. And more importantly, it wears them out so I can sleep at night:clap:
I like the wand type toys with feathers and such too. Nothing beats the paper airplane tho

No dry and a raw diet keeps mine in great condition

They like teasers, laser pointer, da bird and chasing each other around

Mine have a cat-proof back garden they can go in, and the older boy (5 years) lost 400g in the first year after I started letting him in it.  He also plays with his sister, and that helps a lot.

I feed mine mainly canned grain-free food and only a minimal amount of dry food.  I seldom give treats.  Those things are LOADED with calories!  My kitties love DaBird, the Cat Dancer toy, and the Cat Charmer.  Of course, they also like to chase each other around the house, which helps.

I do a 90% wet to a 10% dry diet.  I do the wand type toys and I've got a remote control mouse they will chase for hours and hours
Keeps them busy and off my keyboard LOL!  We also play hide and seek.  I hide feline Greenies and they seek 'em out!  They love the game and have gotten really good at it.  They also love to chase any kind of furry toy so I'll throw toys around for them.  I just keep them busy as much as possible.  No couch potatoes in this house

I feed mine raw (now) but used to be on a grain-free wet diet, which kept them at a good weight, but raw is helping them lose a little bit more.

For toys... I (and they) LOVE Da Bird! Then, the Cat Catcher second. (Both made by GO-CAT). But they also love lasers and some of the remote kind of toys. We got a little remote control car too, which they love chasing around and batting at the wheels. Mine also get some outside time once a week, in our fenced in yard. It's great bringing Da Bird outside and they get to burns lots of calories chasing it out there.

Oh, and they chase each other around a lot too.
