Hi all. My indoor cat was allowed outside by my mother in law who has dimentia, and she ended up pregnant. She is quite far along. Although I don know exactly when she conceived.

On Sunday morning she had a dark brown discharge, light to medium rate. I thought it was time so we made her an area, restricted dogs and our 9 year old son.

Meanwhile it is Tuesday morning and she is not in labor. She is very calm, quiet, acting normal, eating drinking normally and eliminating.

I've checked her for milk starting Sunday when I noticed the spotting and there was none. This morning there is milk and her mammary glands inside her skin has increased in size.

Bleeding stopped Sunday night and there is no presence of any more fluids. Belly is still round and I'm pretty sure I've felt movement inside this morning.

What gives?

Movements are usually feelable from  2 weeks before... Otherwise it is mostly a matter of guessing and waiting...  Read on and prepare...  As the prepared is also the protected, as the proverb tells.

Welcome to our Forums!

Good luck!

Small amounts of discharge and milk coming in about a week beforehand isn't unusual. Bleeding, smelly discharge or larger amounts will require a vet visit.

I'd expect her to go within the next week.

Hope all goes well.  Check with your vet as to how soon he is willing to spay your cat, and keep her in from now on.  You don't want kittens born outside, you don't want her having an accident when she is feeding baby kittens, and you don't want her getting pregnant again.  Some cats will get pregnant again almost immediately.
