Hi...a cat, I'm guessing around 6 mos old, just appeared on my patio.  I have a cat and cannot take him in.  He/she seems friendly and hungry, so I fed him a little.  My question is, if I take him to a no kill shelter, will they take him? I know many shelters are crowded, but I really don't know what to do if they don't accept him.  I would make a donation if they would take him in. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If he is apparently healthy, and seems to be adoptable, they probably will.  The bad news is that no-kill shelters control their population at the front door; kill shelters control it at the back door.  The results are largely the same; only healthy, happy, loving and appealing cats are in the shelter.

But be very sure, before you take the cat anywhere, that it doesn't belong to someone else nearby.

I also would make sure that this cat does not belong to anyone in the neighborhood and is just lost. You can take the cat to the vet, free of charge, to check for a micro-chip OR the shelter will do that for you as well. Better to take him in rather than leaving him outdoors as he sounds really sweet and hopefully will find a loving home quickly. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:
