I still have to keep this quiet. I am so excited. All 3 of my children are adopted. My youngest is Raina is 8. We found out a few months ago her older sister M. is back in care. M has been bounced around from family to foster care since her Mother's death. We met her last spring and had M come for a visit over the summer. The big news is we are in the process of adopting her
.  M is 16 a sweet girl but this is a huge change for her.  I think I could use some vibes. So facebook friends Sssssssssssssssssssssh

Oh hon, as an adopted child at 5 months, I have tears in my eyes right now. I always wondered if I had any sisters, and the fact that you are adopting Raina's sister is just...well I'm speechless. You are a wonderful person! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!

I am hoping things go smoothly. We have the same adoption worker we used for my last two kids. We have to update our home study, get references, criminal record checks and medical check. Our worker is really good. I was hoping we could skip a few steps but, strict laws prevent that. I can't wait to bring her home.

Oh my goodness that is sooo exciting!!  I will pray everything goes smoothly for her and for you guys!

The husband of an old co-worker of mine was adopted before his sister.  From what she said; he was a little boy in a shell until his parents decided he needed his big sister and they wanted her too.  Once the 2 were reunited they did much better.  I think they were about 6 and 9 at the time.

Keep us updated please!!

Congrats!  That's great that you are adopting your daughter's sister!!!

Would they let you foster M while the process is being worked through?

M is in a foster home. Unfortunately until all of our checks are done social services will keep her where she is. I would bring her home today if I could.
