I have an eight-year old cat. Last year he started to cough when moving, he had no other symptoms. I asked for an X-ray, which showed he had pneumonia. I gave him Kevafet pills for 17 days. He was given steroid injection, getting better very fast, after 3 days he did not cough. One week passed and another X-ray followed – his better condition could be seen, the infection stopped to spread. In January 2012, X-ray result: infiltration remained in his lungs, with phonendoscope loud thrills can be heard. When given steroids, antibiotics he’s getting better for a 4-week period, then againg he’s having catarrhal coughs, hawks and there’s alway secretion from his nose though that’s waterclear. He’s in good mood and has got good apetite. The vet told that he’s got a serious lung deformation, his connective tissues thickened there which cannot be cured. I do not want my cat to be given more steroids. Please help me with ideas or names of medicine for this disease. It’s so painful for the cat and for me to see his suffering, his coughs. What can I do for Him? Thank you so much for answers.Éva from Hungary
Wonder if treating your cat with a steriod inhaler like many of us have to do with our asthmatic cats would help? It sure would be worth trying .I would talk this over with your vet..If he feels that it would help. Then you would need to order the areo kat inhaler online made just for cats
Thank u i am also thinking of buying inhaler, but idont know in Hungary i can can this areo cat or not? Do u think other type wold be also good for cat?
