One of our 5 week old kittens became very sick today. I came home and she won't eat and is completely lethargic. She is so week she won't eat or walk. I have dripped water in her mouth and have her cuddled in a warmed blanket. The vet is not available until the morning they said. What else can i do? It looks grim :(

Keep her very warm. You can also try rubbing a little Karo syrup on her gums which can give her a short boost of energy. Also, pedialyte is good for when they are not eating to still get them some nutrients. I really hope she pulls through.

The vet wouldn't fit in an emergency patient? That's terrible. Sorry for your loss

I am so sad. I called 8you vets within an hour and a half driving distance when i got home from work. They all said not until tomorrow. One vet called me and said there was very little hope for her after hearing the symptoms. I could tell when I got home she was in bad shape. Vet said at that age they go down hill fast :( very sad day in our home. I held her all night until she past. I feel so bad and he'll
pless.

So sorry for your loss =[ How long had she been sick? Are the others OK? I just lost a cat less than a month ago - I know it really hurts. Their are no emergency vets in your area?

Kittens do go down quickly, which is why swift action must be taken. I wouldn't have listened and taken him into the clinic anyway, demanding that he be seen - even if only to be humanly put to sleep.

Hopefully the rest of your kittens are ok.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I am going to close this thread now.  When you feel up to it, you might want to post a tribute to your kitten in our Crossing the Bridge Forum.  Hugs.
