I feed my 8 month old cat Fancy Feast classics--about 1/2 can 4 times a day about 6 hours apart.  But she always seems so hungry.  I can't eat dinner or fix dinner without her in my face wanting food.  I can't eat anything with her following me around wanting a bite.  it doesn't matter what the food is, she wants it.

She was dewormed when she was little.  She is an indoor cat and there are no other cats around her.

I've felt her and looked at her profile and she looks normal.  I can't see any ribs or anything like that.

She pees and poops and I never see snything in her poop when I check her.

Is this a kitten thing?  Do all cats do this?  Should I have her checked?

This little angel is all I've got and  I'm worried.

It could be she isn't getting enough food.  It has been a while since I read a FF label, but doesn't it say 3 cans per day for an average sized adult?  (I could be remembering wrong.)  Kittens need more than adult cats so she would need a kitten food or a larger amount of the adult food.  I'd read the label and if it indeed says 3 cans per day, she probably needs at least that or more.

By the way, I had this happen with a 7 month old kitten and when I re-read the food can labels and redid the math I discovered that he, indeed, was not getting enough food.  Like yours, he just seemed way too interested in my food.  The problem corrected itself when I started feeding him more.  Good luck.

She is still a kitten, so its possible she's still growing and Needs more food. On the other hand, my cat Grim has been on a 'one can a day' diet for at least a year but he still acts like he hasn't eaten for days and tries to eat Everything he sees me eating.

I know that feeling! Cookie is an adult cat but she is ALWAYS hungry. She was checked out by the vet and they said she's just a piggy. :lol3:

It is hard to feed her more.  I get up at 5am and feed her and then have to go to work.  My husband is usually at work but comes home at 11 and feeds her on his lunch break.  Then we are both home at 5 and 11pm.  I just can't get to her more than that a day.  I don't want to give her more because we had  problems with her throwing up. So I was trying to feed her often and a little less.  We don't give her dry because of it not being good for her.  Maybe I should try to find a good dry food that I can give her throughout with an automatic feeder.

What about feeding her an additional meal of wet food in an automatic feeder? Some even have ice-pack inserts to keep the food cool, or you can freeze the food in an ice-cube tray and plop a couple in a dish for her to eat as they thaw out.

Another thought is to feed a higher calorie and/or higher protein food, like Nature's Variety Instinct or Wellness.

She IS a teenager, and we all know how teenagers are! :lol3: I would try increasing her intake for now, however you have to do it. A bit of kibble for the next few months won't hurt as long as she's getting mostly wet, if you can't increase her wet food intake. I would cut her back down when she's about 12-18 months old so she doesn't get fat, though. But teenagers have to eat. . .a lot :tongue2:.
