Oh gosh, I'm just reading this, so sending more vibes.  (wish I had some cool fairy dust to sprinkle too!)

Here's hoping he's just having an "off week" and nothing more!!!!!!!

:hugs: Again, thank you SO MUCH everyone, for all your good thoughts for our Number One Son. :lol3: :grphug2:

I don't know what to think, so I'm sticking with the positive thinking! :D :rub: :vibes: :cross: :heart2:

Minka - I'm sure he heard you shouting! (They do have very sensitive hearing after all!)

And Sally, consider the fairy dust sprinkled. :)

Today he seems completely normal. OK - he's asking for food frequently, and I'm giving him nibbles. He still needs the fortiflora sprinkled on his meal to eat it (and I've cut back his meals to one ounce from 1.5 ounces, because he's eating so much between meals right at the moment). - but he's peppy, perky, has that "Charlie Chaplin" bounce back in his step ( :lol3: ), and is beating up Billy. :lol3:

One thing is for SURE - he's loving all the special attention again. :lol3:

Hi LDG
,

First of all, tons of
and some more
just in case. Plus, lots and lots of
to your "son" Lazlo.

Now, if, he does have the C word, I can recommend the specialist, I took Roxy to. It is NEAR NYC. Which, I KNOW isn't close. But, they are a phenomenal practice, in my humble opinion. You know, I would do ANYTHING for Roxy. Just, remember, if you can give them cash, they will knock down the bill. But, I still spent $15,000 almost six years ago (Roxy just turned eight), to find out, he doesn't have cancer. But I was so so so so happy, I didn't even mind the bill. Which, you know, isn't like me.

Again, tons of
that it nothing!!!

Laurie!!! Sending you lots and lots of good vibes to you and Lazlo!!!
I know what you are describing with the meatloaf position. It's different than what they normally look like in that position. It's definitely uncomfortable. They hang their head and hunch their backs a little. Also look for puffy fur around their eyes from squinting.

Hi Laurie, I know exactly what you mean, I call Toby's the bunny crouch, because he crouches like a bunny rabbit, all tucked in but looking very stiff like a frozen bunny. Meatloaf is a perfect word for it too. Anyhow I am very sorry to hear this and I know how instantly chilling it can be to see that- a horrible ghost from the past. I will say a prayer for your smart, beautiful, incredible fun boy and i am glad to hear that what you are doing is helping him. Thank you for mentioning the sucralfate because I ran out of it and have been using just the prednisone and 1/2 pepsid along with 1/2 cerenia, the last one is just given for 4 days after his chemo treatment. I am going to get more of the sucralfate too so it is there if needed.

The other doctor I went to had planned to do chemo with radiation but I didn't choose that route. I have wondered if Toby isn't better after his chemo ends, whether we can still look at radiation for that mass of lymphatic tissue. I am at a loss as to what I would do in this situation. And I know what it is like when your kitty is vibrant and full of life, you can't just throw in the towel. I will say many prayers for you and your family and dearest Laz :-)

Poor baby.  Noodles did that whole meatloafing thing when she was sick a month or so ago.  I didn't know there was a term for it but thinking back I see it now.  It is different from what I thought of as meatloafing.  Good to know now if I ever have to see it again!

Feel better and stay better Lazlo!!

:vibes: :vibes: :vibes: that it nothing!!!
While he IS our "Number One Son" ;) (he's our first indoor-only feral kitty rescue), we already know he has cancer.

....And we spent nowhere near $15,000 for diagnoses AND treatment! (6 months of chemo). And you call ME crazy! :flail: To get him diagnosed, it did take three vet visits (because the symptom was vomiting, and we thought it was hairballs. But blood work at THAT visit showed he was anemic - so we started looking for causes. But his brother has an auto-immune disease that causes anemia, and we all suspected it might be the same problem, just showing up later in life. He responded well to depo - at first. But when he kept getting sicker (over a two week period), the next step was an x-ray, which led to an ultrasound that afternoon, and biopsy at the time of that ultrasound. They could see the mass well in the ultrasound: it looked like lymphoma (on the x-ray it looked like hemangiosarcoma). It took two days to get the results of the biopsy back - large cell lymphoma. :( Thankfully, we didn't need to drive over several bridges and NYC traffic to get him treatment. We saw a specialist over in Red Bank (NJ). :)

He actually finished his course of chemo in January, and in February there was no detectable mass to measure. He was in complete remission. So we're just hoping this is "something else," and not that he's coming out of remission.... :cross:

But that's really sweet. :hugs: I'm just glad we don't need it! UGH I hate NYC traffic! :lol3:

That's fantastic! :banana1:   I love the dancing banana!

Yep, bunny crouch is a good term for it.

Barb, I'm just going to hope that the lymph node lump is all gone when this is done! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: !!!!

You know, I'm not sure that's the right term for this. I just know that people refer to the "meatloaf" position - and this looks like that, just... uncomfortable, not relaxed.

finnlacey - is "meatloafing" an actual term used for this? :dk: I do know that when chatting with the oncologist, he knew exactly what we were describing and didn't proffer an alternative. :lol3:

...and I'm happy to report that I can't take pictures of it, because he's not doing it! :D

Carolina? The expression on the giant smiley with the utensils is pretty much just what Laz looks like! :lol3:

He is still a bit "drooley," though I think the cerenia does that. When he eats treats, if I don't put them on a plate, he leaves the spot sopping wet. But I don't think it's because he's nauseous now. :)

It's great that he's got his appetite back!:clap::clap:
I love the "meatloaf" expression. :lol3: I've always called it "playing hen", because it reminds me of a brooding chicken.
