It seems to me that there is one type of justice for the rich (cf. OJ Simpson, Claus von Bülow, and the other Kennedy cousin) and another for the poor. I loved the reference to the "private school": Skakel was in and out of "private reform schools for years.
I agree with you about the rich - I watch this programme (when I remember) called Dominick Dunne's Power, Privilege and Justice - he is a very staunt victim's rights advocate, that defense lawyers hate him
Well, it doesn't surprise me. I was surprised that he was convicted, not because I don't think he did it, but because he is a Kennedy cousin. I hope the motion gets denied, but you know they will keep trying until his sentence is done.
I doubt this "witness" has any credibility. First he said he was Kobe Bryant's cousin, then he said he wasn't, but was the cousin of another yet unnamed famous athelete. That was as of this morning early, I haven't seen anything since then. I think the whole thing is ridiculous.
Dominick Dunne,"Vanity Fair" writer and father to actor/director Griffin Dunne, is rather harsh, but he certainly has cause: his daughter, actress Dominique Dunne (Poltergeist) was murdered by her overpossessive boyfriend, and the guy, Sweeney, (a chef with a history of beating women) was simply convicted of manslaughter, because the idiotic judge didn't allow any mention of prior acts of violence against women!
