Hi. This is my first post. We have a new 3 month old kitten who I took home from Spca about 1.5 weeks ago. My young children are enjoying a playful friendly kitten. I am still missing my 20 year old cat ... he had chronic kidney disease, became very ill and needed to be euthanised a month ago. He was my cat and such a good friend. I have no experience with kittens though because i rescued my first cat when he was a year or more old.

And, crazy I am ... I have cat allergies!

You clearly took great care of your cat for it to live 20 years.  Your new kitten is probably lucky to have you for its new family!

You can help with the allergies some by wiping down the cat with a damp microfiber cloth every day.  Not wet, just damp, and use a clean cloth each time.

So sorry about your kitty.

My husband is also allergic; but loves our 2.  They just don't get to sleep with us. My boss' wife used to work with us too; and apparently my boss was also allergic...but his wife let the cats sleep with them anyway!

I'm allergic too. We used to not let our cat sleep with us (when we had Stan) but when we got Meowzers that changed - she would body check the door and scream until we let her in. Lloyd has learned that from her as well. I keep a blanket over my bed and just take it off before I go to sleep. As long as the pillows are at least covered I'm fine.

Sorry to hear about your beloved kitty.

In my experience kittens love to play A LOT more than the adults.Often times I was the toy
.lol

I have a 10 week old kitten named Rose. I feed all my cats (4) dry food (free fed) and 2 adults plus Rose get wet food. The other doesn't like it. But Rose gets wet kitten food. She's not a fan of the dry.
