I just finished installing the new internet, (What a mess, LOL)

Well, here is how it went.

Monday morning: We decided to lock the girls in the bathroom at the apartment while all the furniture was moved. they were not happy to be locked up!

Once everything was moved, we got the carriers out and went to the bathroom door. Rusty was at the door and we didn't even give her a chance to bolt. She was immediately put in the carrier. then it was Dusty's turn. She was hiding under the sink. I got her out and into the carrier with no problem. Then out to the car with their food and litter box. On the short drive over to the house, they were crying then started screaming!  I am sure the people in the next car heard them!

Once at the house, Mike set up the litter box in the room we have designated "The Cat Room", put food and water out. Their familiar toys were already out plus their cat tree by the window.

We then opened the carriers and let them come out. We had the door open so they could explore the rest of the house, but they immediately ran to the next room (our bedroom) and went straight under the bed. A little later, Rusty, our little scaredycat, was out exploring the room. Dusty was content to remain under the bed. Rusty explored a bit of the hall but that was it.

Monday night, both cats jumped on the bed and wanted petting.

Tuesday-Thursday

The girls are slowly adjusting to their new digs. Rusty explored the living room first and when she realized it smelled like Mama and Papa, she starting rolling on the carpet. Dusty is now exploring too and was the first to explore the kitchen with its wood floor.

Last night, Rusty was at the front door looking out. It has one of those roll up screen doors that when it is touched just right, will snap open. Well Rusty wanted to get to the cat outside and touched the door. It rolled open with a bang! Rusty ran under the bed and who knows where the other cat went! It took awhile for her to come back to the door.

The girls have finally realized the swamp cooler it not going to hurt them and will come out even when it is going.

They are still a little bit skeetish, but they seem to be settling in nicely.

We are settling in nicely too. It is so peaceful here. I still have so much unpacking to do. One really nice perk is that it has a washer and dryer. No more going to the laundrymat! I have washed about 10 loads already. Stuff that I have been letting go.

Well, Now I just have to finished cleaning the apartment, turn in the keys and hope they don't keep too much of my deposit. It is not going to be up to their standards, I know.

LOL Last night the girls were racing up and down the hall, in and out of the rooms. Dusty ran out of our room and wanted to turn left into the computer room but I was in the doorway. She then proceeded to run into their room. They have drug several of their toys to to big bathroom and one of they toys is in the little one. They are making this their home. I am so glad as I was worried the first day. They are not afraid of the swamp cooler anymore.

They're really settling in fast, which must make it a lot easier for you to feel at home, too.
Yes it does, they were tearing around the house yesterday, chasing each other. They have so much more room.

No house is really a home until the cats frolic and follow you around and climb on the highest thing in the room.
