Hi, I have 3 kittens that are just over a month old, & they've all been doing perfect, eating lots, and getting into trouble! This morning I woke up and noticed Lola's(first born) right eye was gooped shut? I've been cleaning it & it's opening up after I do so, but I'm now curious/worried about what's going on?! Please help!!

Awww..... :( Sounds like an infection. "Goop" that glues the eye shut usually needs antibiotics. Is her forehead hot? In kittens things like this can sometimes come with a fever, and it's VERY important to keep them hydrated. I'm sorry this happened on a Friday afternoon (depending on where you live), but perhaps your vet is open tomorrow? I wouldn't wait until Monday. In an adult cat, maybe, but not a kitten. Vibes for you and your baby! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Sterile saline water can be used to rinse the eye.  In addition, most pet stores have a solution called "Opti-Clear" that can be used.  It may be time to supplement the kitten's diet with L-lysine to help prevent the spread of the feline herpes virus in its system.

If you're cleaning it and it keeps on shutting then antibiotic ointment is needed, not a home or pet store remedy.  Agree with LDG on not waiting until after the weekend to visit the vets.
