Who would you pay a lot of money to see in a concert?

Since concerts are so expensive there are probably a few people that you would love to see and pay"almost" anything (within reason of course).  What would your choices be?

As for me, it would be Neil Diamond, Andrea Boccelli and Johnny Mathis.

Yep, I paid big bucks for a good seat at a Paul McCartney concert, and was worth every penny - next on my list are the Eagles and James Taylor!

Adele. She's having a 5 year break but l'll be online to order the minute she announces dates

My husband took me to see Luther Vandross a couple of years before he died, and he paid nearly $90 a ticket, but so worth it

Pink Floyd with all living members accounted for (RIP Syd Barrett). I'd pay through the nose for that reunion.

Back in 2010 I spent a lot of money to see opening night of Van Halen's reunion with David Lee Roth. I had to road trip to Charlotte, NC as well which is about 500 miles one way from me. We also bought 5th row seats from Stubhub, so it wasn't cheap. It was SOOO worth it though!!!

The only concert I think I would have paid big bucks to see was Mr. Cash. He passed away before I even got into his music so I never had a chance anyway lol. I love such a wide variety of artists/bands that I can't think of any now that'd I'd fork over lots of money for.

All you Eagles fans will be glad to know tickets aren't actually that bad. $45 for a basketball stadium nosebleed seat in 2010. :bigthumb:

I wouldn't waste the money though. To me it was B-O-R-I-N-G and I like them!! Joe Walsh by himself though I would pay anything for. Well almost. :lol3:

As for who I'd pay through the nose to see, I agree on Led Zeppelin. Or the Beatles if they were all still alive.

No-one, unless it was a small venue.  Those huge concerts just aren't for me.

However, I remember going to a Bowie concert in Singapore in 1983.. his 'Serious Moonlight Tour'.  There was hardly anyone there.. I guess Singaporeans just didn't get Bowie.  But Bowie still gave the performance his absolute all, and we were right there, in the second row.

I'd probably pay quite a bit to have that experience again.

What??  David Bowie?  Crazy, I love him, (never saw him live though unfortunately) lucky you second row, wow!..

For me, I would pay big bucks to see Prince (the Artist), Sting (have seen him once), and The Dave Matthews Band (whom I've seen 6 times - my favorite band)

(My friend payed over 300 dollars to see Madonna when she performs in our city in November, that's quite a lot)

That's about what I paid for Paul's ticket in LA..... It was years ago - at least 5, since I have been in Dallas for 5....
Evidently none of my friends wanted to go with me, so I went on my own - BEST show EVER. He played for almost 4 hours. The band would take a break, and he would stay, on his own, voice and guitar. He is absolutely fantastic.
I would not think twice about paying for that show again..... SO worth it!!

I would have to add Billy Joel, when he was at his peak.

Funny how taste is, though.  My sister would have waded through the Everglades to get to a John Denver concert.  To me, he always sounded like a poet who didn't pass English class.

They are alive, except for John & George. Although I guess a Ringo & Paul reunion tour would probably be lacking something.

I'm sure Bowie was fantastic! I love me some "Ziggy".

I'm blessed to have one of the world's greatest small venues in my home town. "The Mother Church" AKA The Ryman Auditorium is a fantastic place to see a show. The acoustics of the building are fantastic! I've seen many wonderful artists there: Beck, The Black Crows, and Merle Haggard (Twice) just to name a couple.

I don't listen to much country, but Outlaw Country on the other hand... I love!

That's a hard one for me, I am a huge fan of live music, and have driven for hours to see a show. I would LOVE to see  Brian Setzer' Big Band again. I saw them at an old vaudwville theater in Lawrence, Kansas.  It was a great show.

I would love to see Ray Wylie Hubbard, too.

Over the last 30 years, we've been to so many concerts, we've lost track of the bands we've seen.

We saw the Eagles many, many years ago (way back before they were real popular) and they were amazing. For one of their recent tours, good tickets were $300. Each. Ridiculous, in our opinion, and we wouldn't pay it. And I'm an Eagles (and Walsh) fan.

Rick would go to see Pink Floyd in a heartbeat.

Rick and our son have seen Dave Matthews several times; they enjoy them. One of my GFs saw Billy Joel last year and she loved the concert. I'd love to see him perform.

Me, I just love Aerosmith and we've seen them now five times. As much as I love them, I don't think I'd pay the money again, though. The last concert, in Hershey, a few years ago, I don't know, there was something not quite right with the band. Now, we realize that Tyler was back on drugs. It's not worth it anymore.

We'd love to see AC/DC. They went through here several years ago and were in the Poconos. Tickets were $90+ each and we wouldn't pay it. Now, if they were to come back, we'd go.

Would love to see Led Zepplin. Rick has everything they've ever done....he's a big Zepplin fan.

A few years ago, we went to a small venue to see Jethro Tull. I think that was the third time we had seen them. I'm a huge Tull fan and they were every bit as good as they were years ago. Rick has always been a huge Santana fan and we saw them a few years ago over in the Poconos. We were lucky enough to get a front row seat right in front of the band. Rick was in heaven.

Pat Benatar is going to be in our area (Williamsport, PA); Rick saw her once before and he enjoyed her show. He's more of a Benatar fan than I am, although I like some of her songs. We're debating if we want to go.

As you can see, I'm still in a classic rock stage and it's pretty much the only music I really listen to. (With a wee little bit of blues thrown in for good measure)
