My daughter was born on Tuesday September 4 at 1:21pm. She was born at 29 weeks, 5 days gestation due to pre-eclampsia, a placental abruption and reduced blood flow through the cord. I have been in the hospital since August 25 and on Tuesday the high risk doctors decided that it is better to have the baby born and in the NICU than to stay inside of me. She weighed 2 pounds 2 ounces at birth. She is doing really good. She is on a CPAP machine and has a feeding tube.

We named her Aimee Elizabeth. Aimee is after my husbands grandpa (who was Aime, the masculine variation) who passed away and Elizabeth is after my sister (her middle name). The crazy thing was, September 4 was my husbands grandpas birthday. Of all days for her to be born, she came on the birthday of the person we named her after over 2 months before she was due.

I won't post pictures on here just in case people don't want to see a 10 week premature baby. I know not everyone is comfortable seeing things like this.

Over the river and through the woods...
Congrats MOM!!! I, personally, would love to see pics of Aimee! All babies are beautiful.

I'm so sorry you both had such a hard time, but it sounds like she's doing great! Hope you are too...How are YOU feeling?

Congratulations on your baby girl! Love her name...I have a niece named Amy and I really like the way you spelled it!

You really should post pictures of your beautiful daughter here. I had a baby 10 wks pre-mature and I think they are the most beautiful of babies! So delicate but so strong and determined. My son was born almost 28 yrs ago and weighed a little over 3 lbs. He's now 6'2 and weighs about 250.

I know this can be a scary time for you....we're all here for you. So please post those pictures of your beautiful baby girl...I can't wait to see Aimee!

Congratulations! Of course we want to see pictures! A friend's daughter's baby was born over three months early last October, and he's not only thriving, he's bigger than 82% of babies his age. Your little Aimee will catch up, too.

Congrats on your new daughter!  Aimee is a very pretty name!  Lots and lots of good vibes coming your daughter's way!!!

My friend also gave birth on Tuesday at 9:14 am. Right on her due date.

Here are some pictures of Aimee.

This is the first time I saw her eyes. They are dark just like mine.

Sleeping (pretty much all she does right now)

Holding my finger. She has a very good grip

Holding her daddy's finger

Close up of her fast asleep. She has very long hands and big feet for only being 2 pounds. That is one of her CPAP machines (the other kind can be seen in the first picture) and her feeding tube in her mouth.

Congratulations!!  She is beautiful!  My cousin's wife had their baby under similar circumstances earlier this year and their little one is doing great now.  Thank you for sharing her pics with us!

That is really neat that she shares her namesake's birthday!  Althought I'm sure you'd prefer it the other way.  But still.  My DD was born on my Grandpa's birthday (who is still with us, thank the Lord) and calling him myself to tell him was just one of the best moments of my life.  DS is his namesake; but apparently he wanted a birthday all his own!

Right here! :)
Congratulations!!!  Your little girl is beautiful and looks so strong!

How are you feeling?

Her name is beautiful and what a great coincident that she arrived on this exact day!

(I have a cousin that shares her name, with a different spelling though, I like your spelling. My cousins´s name is Kathrine Amy Elizabeth)
