I've been without a cleaning person for about 18 months or more. I didn't bother to look for anyone new in my old apartment because it was too cluttered with 1/2 packed boxes to be able to do a good cleaning.
Now that I'm more organized, and nearly unpacked....again, I decided to put some effort into it.
The girl that came to help me pack for bed bug spraying is very nice. Her job is cleaning houses and she does the occasional job for the property manager of my rental agency.
When she was here a couple weeks ago I talked to her about hiring her to clean for me twice a month. She's agreeable to it.
I've seen her work twice now, and if her standard is what I saw, then she is a dream come true. She wasn't working to impress me. She was simply working at a job that the property manager hired her to do.
She's a bit pricey. $100 ever 2 weeks. I was paying the other girl $45 weekly. But Vicky will do laundry, change the bedding, start the dishwasher, dust and wash baseboards and window blinds as needed, and she will monitor the fridge and oven for when they need to be cleaned. She also checks cupboards and closets to see if they need to be tidied up.
I'm unpacking right now and doing cleaning as I go along, so I plan on having her start towards the end of the month or early October.
