My husband and I were away for 9 days/8 nights and got back home on Friday. I don't think I am ever going to get caught back up! Laundry is almost done and I am almost unpacked. I've still got stacks of mail to go through, bills to pay, etc. I got a few errands done today, including a small grocery shopping. Abby gets stressed when we are away and sheds excessively so I also have an extra furry house. I feel like it is going to take me another week to catch up! :cringe:

About a week!  Next year I've decided that I'm going to take 3 weeks vacation.  The 3rd week will be my recovery period from my first 2 weeks!  LOL

I'll let you know how that works out! ;)

Well lets see... Sunday afternoon as DH was getting dressed to go to a wedding he couldn't find his suit in the closet so he pulled out the garment bag....yep...still packed with DD's dress from that wedding July of LAST YEAR!  Obviously we don't dress up much....

That just sounds too stressful for everyone involved!  If we take a vacation we usually take our travel trailer and the kids (cats) go along or we parcel it out a couple days at a time and they are okay at home. I don't like to be away from home much myself so things work out pretty well.

A day, tops. We get home and I get the laundry done that night. The next day, I usually have to go back to work, so I have to get everything done that I can as soon as we get home. (I don't get a lot of days off from my job, so I have to space them out.) So my vacations are more of the mini type, maybe a couple days here and there at one time and it's much easier to play "catch-up", than it would be for 9 days. The last time I had a full week off work was about five years ago when we went to Chicago for Rick's work and I went along to visit with friends.

(Sounds like you had a fun time!)

At least two or three days, and the main problem is getting caught up on laundry. We have a "super-energy-efficient" washer, and the short, cold cycle takes 90 minutes.

I am pretty speedy getting caught up with things at home. We usually only take short trips anyway - five days max right now. I don't get away much. But when we do get home - I am fairly fast in getting things back in order. Just a few hours. :D
